Public input sought for southern New Castle County master plan

Share

The New Castle County Department of Land Use, Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) and Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) are seeking public input on a master plan for Southern New Castle County (SNCC) between the Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) Canal and Kent County line.

The plan will identify steps toward developing long-term goals and recommending implementation strategies. It will inform development decisions for the next twenty years, and make recommendations for projects and policies for transportation and land use that will help improve quality of life, safety and economic and environmental sustainability.

Public input will help guide future development. A Public Visioning Workshop will be held on January 31, at the Odessa Fire Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A presentation will be given at 6:00 p.m. with group discussions at 6:30 p.m.

During the Visioning Workshop, New Castle County, DelDOT, and WILMAPCO will be on hand to listen to feedback on what Southern New Castle County should look like in the future.
