MILLSBORO — Preston Automotive Group is once again expanding its dealership dealings and automotive services in multiple Delaware counties.
Millsboro will be the site of its newest dealership locations. The company celebrated the expansions in March with a groundbreaking ceremony for two new facilities at the current Preston Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Store location at 28380 Dupont Blvd.
The group also has locations throughout Maryland and Virginia. All told, the company had 28 sales or service locations across the three states prior to its most recent expansions.
According to the automotive group, the new Boulevard Ford will include a 42,000 square foot facility with a 30 service bay Ford Service Center. Of those 30 bays, eight will be dedicated to commercial vehicles and five will be detail bays.
The other facility, a new Lincoln Vitrine showroom, will feature oversized floor-to-ceiling glass windows and deluxe interior finishes, meshing nicely with the designer brand.
The newer Millsboro locations are next to the current Jeep showroom which used to be the original Millsboro Auto Mart.
The addition signifies an interesting move for the company as it prepares to relocate the Boulevard Ford Lincoln dealership in Georgetown to the Millsboro location. The date of the groundbreaking was significant, too – it was the 10th anniversary of the company’s acquisition of Boulevard Ford Lincoln of Georgetown and Boulevard Ford of Lewes.
July saw another announcement from the multi-state company. Preston Automotive Group will add a second Hyundai store to its offerings. While the first store is located in Hurlock, Md., its second Hyundai location will be in Millsboro next to the Preston Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram and the new Boulevard Ford and Boulevard Lincoln stores.
Executives estimate that the project will be complete in the next two years to include a full-service store with sales, services and parts, according to a press release.
“We started in this exact spot as a used car dealership in 1987 and could not be more excited about the growth that we have seen in Millsboro and the growth that we have achieved here,” Chairman of Preston Automotive Group Dave Wilson, Sr. said in the release.
Preston Automotive Group is affiliated with DHW Landholdings LLC which recently purchased what was formerly known as Shift Collision at 1362 Forrest Ave. in Dover for $1.25 million.
