The Sussex Technical School District’s Adult Division recently received a vehicle donation from Boulevard Ford Lewes, a division of the Preston Automotive Group, to help with its automotive technician apprenticeship program.

“This gift will give our trainees a new tool to practice their skills and get first-hand experience in this dynamic, ever-expanding field,” said Lynn Danner, Sussex Tech’s industrial training coordinator. “We greatly appreciate the generosity of Boulevard and Preston for their support and continued partnership with Sussex Tech.”

The Saturn L Series is being put to work in the Sussex Tech Adult Education Divisonโ€™s Automotive Technician Specialist apprenticeship program. The curriculum includes brakes, suspension and steering, engine repair, and electrical/electronic systems.

The four-semester program is designed to prepare students for four ASE exams and advance to a C level. The apprenticeship program combines daily hands-on training through a sponsoring employer with classroom training through Sussex Tech.

Other apprenticeship classes include carpentry, child care, electrical, HVACR, marine mechanics, plumbing and welding.
