Business leaders and sales professionals looking to get a leg up on their competition will have an opportunity to learn from one of the best at the Chase Center on the Riverfront this month. Jack Daly, a world-renowned sales coach, will bring his six-hour seminar, the Smart Selling workshop, to Wilmington on Feb. 17.

The Philadelphia native, who relocated to California in the mid-1980s, brings with him a resumé that includes more than 30 years of business experience, the title of CEO for several national companies, and recognition as Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 1988. He has also competed in 15 Ironman competitions in eight countries and 60 marathons in 33 states.

When it comes to his philosophy of being a professional sales coach, speaker, and expert in corporate culture, Daly says he focuses on what leads to success for many sports teams; whether professional, college, or high school, they have a playbook.

“The teams practice and they learn to leverage opportunities to score. Using those principles, I have built systems and processes to teach companies how to improve their organization and sales, and how to build winning cultures so their people enjoy working with them and perform exceptionally,” Daly said.

Jennifer Geiger, who has worked with Daly for more than 13 years, says the most commonly heard response to Daly’s seminars over the years is that audiences needed more time with the multi-dimensional speaker. Geiger says Daly’s seminar is very high-energy, and attendees should be ready for an exciting experience.

“When Jack speaks on stage, he is so riveting, so full of incredible content, and so full of energy, that people can’t take notes or write fast enough,” Geiger said. “He is very impactful with the audience, and I know that business leaders learn a lot when they hear him speak.”

Some of the topics Daly will cover in his seminar, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., include maximizing sales in a minimal amount of time, driving greater sales and profits with existing resources, communication, self-renewal and personal marketing, and “everything you need to know to double your sales.”

Doug Ainsworth, who serves as an independent contractor and chair of Vistage International, a peer advisory group for business executives, helped bring Daly to the Chase Center. Ainsworth said that after having Daly, a former Vistage member, speak with a small group of CEOs last year, a request was made to have the speaker come and engage a larger group of sales executives.

“We had him speak at our members meeting last year, and it went over so well, the members wanted their sales associates to attend the full seminar,” Ainsworth said. “Jack is very good at supplying advanced methods on how to grow sales while getting his message across in an entertaining way that captivates audiences.”

General admission tickets to the all-day seminar are $349 per person, are of limited availability, and can be purchased at www.dscc.com. Admission includes a continental breakfast, to be served at 8:30 a.m., as well as a luncheon later in the afternoon.
