Charles Menkhorst has been names the new CEO of Gulftainer, a leading privately owned, independent port operator and a subsidiary of Crescent Enterprises. Former CEO Peter Richards will continue to serve on Gulftainer’s Board of Directors and lead the expansion of the company’s footprint in the United States as CEO of GT USA.
In his new role as CEO of Gulftainer, Charles is tasked with oversight of the strategic growth of the company, which currently operates and manages ports and logistics businesses in its home base in the UAE, and internationally across Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
On assuming his role as Gulftainer’s new CEO, Charles Menkhorst commented: “Gulftainer is entering an exciting phase of development. We have a team of empowered professionals who are ready to write the next chapter of Gulftainer’s globalization, thereby focusing on existing and new geographies and developing new services to deliver world-class maritime supply chain solutions to our clients.”
With over 25 years of experience in the international maritime industry, Charles Menkhorst has served in several key roles for international conglomerates DHL Worldwide Express and APM Terminals. His previous role was Group CEO at Luxemburg-based ports infrastructure group Euroports.

Joe Fisher has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Navient, a leader in education loan management and business processing solutions.
“Joe is ideally suited to take on the CFO responsibilities, given his extensive experience with and knowledge of the company’s operations, finances and strategy,” said Jack Remondi, president and CEO, Navient. “He has long played a key role in the company, and is well-known and highly regarded by our investors, our board and our team.” Fisher was Navient’s vice president of investor relations and corporate development, having led the investor relations team since 2014.
Sam Calagione, Founder and Brewer of Dogfish Head Brewery, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for The Boston Beer Company, Inc.
Calagione will be responsible for managing the Dogfish Head brand and providing insight into all of Boston Beer’s other brands as a member of the Company’s leadership team. His innovative style has earned him a James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine, Spirits, or Beer Professional and a reputation as one of the country’s most adventurous brewers.
During his twenty-five years at the helm of Dogfish Head, he has grown the company from a small brewpub to an award-winning nationally-recognized brand and destination. Mr. Calagione’s skills in brewing, innovation, marketing, consumer engagement, media relations, management, distributor relations, and entrepreneurship are an invaluable asset to Boston Beer’s leadership team.

Jeff Price, manager of Artesian’s Southern Delaware Water Operations, has been awarded the Operator of the Year Award by the Chesapeake Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). This award is given “based upon Health Department standards for excellence in operation and maintenance” according to the Chesapeake Section of the AWWA. In his current position, Price oversees 21 treatment plants that provide water to over 35,000 customers.

Rocky P. Kessler, DBF’s newest CAD designer joins the civil engineering department. With an associate degree from Delaware Technical Community College in applied science and civil engineering technology, Kessler has in-depth knowledge and experience working with AutoCAD, Civil-3D and Hydro-CAD, and is actively pursuing his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is currently working on several subdivisions in Sussex County, which include Marsh Island, Burton’s Pond and Millville by the Sea.
Christopher M. Daube, P.E. is joining the structural engineering department of DBF. A graduate from the University of Delaware with a master’s degree in civil engineering and a concentration in structural engineering, Daube recently passed the Delaware Professional Engineering Exam and will be serving as a project manager on several structural projects alongside DBF’s two structural engineers on-staff. “Chris has been a valuable addition to the team, and we look forward to seeing his expertise assist the firm in expanding DBF’s capabilities throughout Delaware,” said Senior Structural Engineer Andrew Welch, P.E.
Andrew J. Scrutchfield, a native of Lewes and a graduate from Stevens Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s in civil engineering and Master of Engineering in ocean engineering is also joining the DBF team. He is currently working on a dune stabilization project for the Port Lewes HOA, Pirates Wharf Phase I design plans for Wicomico County.
