Ala Alkhatib MD, and Samih Raad MD, have joined Beebe Medical Group and will see patients at Beebe Pulmonary Associates in Lewes and at the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus.
The team at Beebe Pulmonary Associates focus on the diagnosis and management of disorders of the respiratory system, including the lungs, upper airways, thoracic cavity, and chest wall. Providers at this practice are also certified in critical care.
Dr. Raad is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine. He received his medical degree from the America University of Beirut before coming to the United States where he continued his studies and completed his residency at Indiana University Medical Center and his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center.
Dr. Alkhatib is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine. He was born in Jordan where he was always interested in becoming a physician like his father. He received his medical degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, School of Medicine, before coming to the United States where he completed his residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston and his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans.

The American College of Bankruptcy announced that Adam G. Landis, a Founding Partner of Wilmington, Delaware-based Landis Rath & Cobb LLP, will be inducted as a Fellow at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. in March 2021.
Adam is among thirty-seven nominees being honored and recognized for their professional excellence and exceptional contributions to the fields of bankruptcy and insolvency. The nominees reside in twenty-three states, including the District of Columbia, and two foreign countries.
With nearly 30 years of experience in corporate bankruptcy and restructuring, Adam’s practice includes first-chair and co-counsel representation of debtors, official and unofficial committees, secured lenders and other secured creditors, indenture trustees and bondholders, unsecured creditors, asset purchasers, officers and directors, equity holders, liquidating trusts and plan administrators in a variety of national bankruptcy cases, primarily in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
ACB nominees are extended an invitation to join based on a sustained record of achievement. Candidates are selected by the College’s Board of Regents from recommendations of Circuit Admissions Councils in each federal judicial circuit and Committees for Judicial and International Fellows.
Drew Gerard has been named the awardee of Telgian Engineering & Consulting’s annual Top Gun Awards.
Although the Top Gun Awards recognize top performing company sales for the year, “Drew Gerard does not just ‘make sales,’” explains Telgian Executive Chairman Russell Leavitt in a statement. “He does it the right way — with integrity and honor.”
Based in Greenville, Delaware, Gerard is the MidAtlantic Fire Protection Engineering Practice Leader for Telgian Engineering & Consulting. He is a registered Fire Protection Engineer in 20 states, as well as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist with over 12 years of experience. His fire protection and life safety expertise spans a wide array of sectors such as healthcare, educational, large retail, commercial, and industrial.

Marcy Jack JD, BSN, CPHRM, CPHQ, Vice President and Chief Quality & Safety Officer at Beebe Healthcare, was awarded the Delaware Healthcare Association’s “AHA Grass Roots Champion Award” at the Delaware Healthcare Forum, which was recently held virtually.
Jack won this national award because of the work she has done to help stop violence against healthcare workers. She and several other Beebe team members focused on keeping employees and visitors safe from the patient or visitor who sometimes commits an assault in facilities or on health campuses.
“Marcy’s commitment to safety makes our healthcare system a better place not only for patients and visitors but also the colleagues she works with side-by-side each day,” said Rick Schaffner, RN, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Beebe Healthcare in a statement. “Marcy’s work makes an impact on all levels of the healthcare system, and we are so glad to see her dedication recognized at the Delaware Healthcare Forum.”
Jack and her team were concerned that Delaware law has enhanced penalties against perpetrators who assault physicians and nurses, but the penalties were not in place when the same assault is made upon other hospital employees. Other healthcare workers, such as nursing assistants, public safety officers, and those who sit with or transport patients are just as likely, if not more so, to be the victims of assault in a hospital than a nurse or physician.
The uneven charging has sometimes acted as an impediment for some victims to pursue charges knowing their assault was not as highly valued in terms of penalty as the same assault made on a physician or nurse.
Jack approached the legislative committee and presented the issue as well as a draft bill to equalize penalties when any employee is assaulted in a hospital or other healthcare setting. The Delaware Healthcare Association’s Board agreed to place this on their 2020 advocacy agenda.
Bi-partisan sponsorship was rounded up in both the Delaware House and Senate and Jack made numerous trips to the state capital to both advocate for the legislation as well as testify in the committee and on the floor of the House. Her passion, tireless advocacy, and persistence has been instrumental in the advancement of this legislation (HB 144).
The Bill passed the Delaware House unanimously. It was released from the Senate Judiciary Committee, but the COVID-19 pandemic left it on the sidelines as the Delaware General Assembly canceled session.
Dan Fisher has joined CSC in its Global Financial Markets (GFM) division to lead CSC’s wholly owned subsidiary, Delaware Trust Company. In his new role, Dan will oversee and build upon CSC’s boutique offering of U.S. Capital Markets, Trust and Agency, and Independent Director services for a wide range of clients, including alternative asset managers and capital markets participants.
“I’m thrilled to join the growing CSC team,” says Fisher in a statement. “Delaware Trust has always been service-oriented, creating bespoke solutions to meet each client’s unique needs. We will build on that foundation by expanding our services to increase the scope of what we provide to our clients, while continuing to deliver the high level of expertise and support they expect.”
In addition to focusing on business development and service expansion for Delaware Trust, Fisher will help coordinate CSC’s global offering to ensure seamless cross-border service. He will report to John Hebert, president of Global Financial Markets at CSC and president and CEO of Delaware Trust.

Before joining CSC, Fisher served as executive vice president at GLAS Americas and GLAS Trust Company of New York, where he established and led their U.S. business. Prior to GLAS, he worked at Wilmington Trust Company in New York and London, where he served as CEO and executive managing director for its subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands, and Cayman Islands. He also presided over the establishment of Law Debenture Trust Company of New York and previously worked in the default and bankruptcy business of US Bank.
