Beebe Medical Group welcomes board certified obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Roseanne Gichuru to its Women’s Health team
“We are happy to announce Dr. Roseanne Gichuru is joining our Women’s Health service line providing needed Obstetrical and Gynecological care to our community,” said Bobby Gulab, chief medical officer, Beebe Medical Group. “Please welcome her to Sussex County and team Beebe as we work to continue to improve access to care.”
After receiving her medical degree and MBA from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Gichuru completed her OB/GYN residency at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.
She then held an academic appointment as a clinical associate professor at the UPMC, department of OBGYN and Women’s Reproductive Health and worked at Magee Women’s Specialty Services.
“I have a passion for serving women living in underserved/rural areas,” Dr. Gichuru said. “Beebe Women’s Health has been the anchor for this type of care in the community for generations. The practice has a strong and diverse team of clinicians who are committed to continuing to provide quality care to the women in Sussex County and an administration willing to support and invest in these efforts in a community that is growing and expanding culturally, economically, and otherwise.”
Dr. Gichuru, who is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, joins Beebe Medical Group, which includes 20-plus specialty offices in more than 40 office locations throughout Sussex County. When patients see providers that are within the Beebe Medical Group, they enjoy the experience of seamless electronic medical correspondence between office visits, outpatient facilities and the hospital.
Matt Patton has been promoted to Vice President of construction for SoDel Concepts.
Patton was previously the director of operations the company and will continue to oversee the group’s beer program.
“Matt was instrumental in the planning, building and opening of our last three restaurants, including Thompson Island Brewing Company and Bluecoast Seafood Grill in Rehoboth Beach,” Scott Kammerer, president and CEO of Sodel, said. “As we grow, we value his experience, leadership and business skills.”
Patton will oversee the renovation of the former Ropewalk building on Coastal Highway in Fenwick, which will become Matt’s Fish Camp Fenwick, and the construction of Ocean View Brewing Company in Ocean View.
“It’s incredibly fulfilling to work for a company that has allowed me to pursue my passions,” Patton said. “While with SoDel Concepts, I received my cicerone certification and have shared my knowledge with the team. I’ve improved my managerial skills and helped build businesses from the ground up.”
Wendy Smith has joined HDC MidAtlantic as their new vice president of Property Management. In her role, she will be responsible for the strategic direction and performance of HDC’s property management operations, which includes over 3,000 affordable apartments in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.
“We are thrilled to have Wendy join our executive team,” said HDC MidAtlantic president & CEO Dana Hanchin. “Her results-oriented approach, depth of experience and commitment to our mission will serve our communities and residents extremely well as we navigate in this post COVID world. We believe her private sector background of overseeing large numbers of affordable housing communities will greatly benefit how we approach our property operations and better serve people who are seeking a safe and affordable place to live.”
Previously Wendy served as asset and operations manager for a leading real estate firm based in New York City, which owned over 11,000 affordable homes across the country. Since 2008, Wendy has held regional roles in property management for for-profit affordable housing companies. In her free time, she loves to travel internationally and spend time with her family, including her cats.
“I am excited to join this amazing team at HDC MidAtlantic,” said Smith, a long-time resident of Lancaster County. “The organization’s core values align with my personal beliefs and I am deeply committed to increasing affordable housing opportunities and expanding resources for HDC residents.”
Brian Stubbs has been hired by The Standard as a retirement plan consultant. He will work with advisors and third party administrators in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York.
Stubbs has almost 25 years of experience working with retirement plans including sales and service roles as a regional vice president, business development consultant and client relationship manager. He holds both the FINRA Series 6 and 63 securities licenses.
“Brian brings years of diverse experience working with retirement plan advisors and their plan sponsors,” said Derek Fuller, regional sales director at The Standard. “He has a proactive, collaborative approach and brings deep expertise to the role. I’m confident Brian will be an asset to the advisors in his territory. We’re so pleased to add him to our sales team.”
Oderah Nwaeze has joined the Faegre Drinker’s Wilmington and Philadelphia offices as a partner in their litigation practice. Nwaeze was previously a partner with Duane Morris LLP.
Nwaeze’s practice includes matters involving shareholder rights; actions arising under Delaware General Corporation Law and Delaware common law; lawsuits stemming from mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions; and breach of contract matters.
“Oderah is an experienced and highly knowledgeable attorney who adds outstanding trial capabilities to our growing litigation practice, particularly in the area of commercial disputes,” Faegre Drinker litigation practice co-leaders Debbie Ellingboe and Dan Collins said in a joint statement. “With many clients incorporated in Delaware, Oderah’s addition further enhances our bench strength as we continue to provide comprehensive representation in precedent-setting disputes in Delaware’s Court of Chancery.”
As a seasoned litigator, Nwaeze has represented clients in state and federal class actions involving securities laws, statutory and common law fraud, breaches of fiduciary duty and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. He counsels financial institutions in consumer-related litigation and understands the legal and business sensitivities of banking clients, due, in large part, to his time as a secondee with TD Bank.
Nwaeze also takes pride in maintaining an active pro bono practice, which has included representing veterans of the U.S. armed forces in appeals of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ decisions on their entitlement to compensation for service-connected injuries, forming nonprofits and corporations for underprivileged entrepreneurs, and working with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project.
Nwaeze is the 11th partner to join Faegre Drinker in 2021. His arrival marks the third partner addition to the firm’s litigation practice.
Tim O’Leary and Adam Dorosky have joined Bassett, Dawson and Foy, Inc. as new associates.
O’Leary will be assuming the role of Wealth Manager and brings with him over 20-years of experience from the Asset Management industry. In his prior roles, he worked alongside Financial Advisors and Wealth Managers, educating them on market trends and investment solutions. Tim was able to grow his sales territory from $150 million annually to over $500 million annually. He will be joining the team led by executive vice president Brad Foy, where he will be focused on Asset Management relationships, as well as client relationships.
Dorosky will be assuming the role of client service associate. He joins the team led by Fred Dawson, president of Bassett, Dawson & Foy, and brings 15-years of successful real estate sales experience in addition to a diverse banking background.
