Wohlsen Construction Company has added two new construction professionals to its Delaware Valley team:
Marcos Espinoza has been named MEP Preconstruction Manager, where he works with the design and construction teams to manage the MEP processes and budgeting during the preconstruction phase.
Leonard Petrovich has joined Wohlsen as a project manager/carpentry superintendent as part of Wohlen’s Delaware Valley expanding self-perform group.
Kaneisha Trott has been named community engagement specialist at Sussex Montessori School in Seaford. Trott was communications manager at First State Community Action Agency for more than 10 years, joined the new charter school in April. Ms. Trott will assist families seeking to enroll their children in grades K-3 for the fall 2020 season. Sixty-five seats will be available for each grade.
Yvonne Takvorian Saville, a director at Weiss, Saville & Houser, was presented with the Amicus Curiae Award by the Delaware Superior Court. The award was given to Saville to recognize her handling 10,000 cases as a mediator and arbitrator. Saville focuses her practice on plaintiff’s personal injury, claimant’s workers’ compensation and alternative dispute resolution. She is a former president of the Delaware State Bar Association and serves on the board of governors of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association.

The Courtyard by Marriott – Newark at the University of Delaware has promoted Kelleigh Davis to Hotel Sales Manager. Is this role, she will lead sales of meeting and banquet events, and work with our wedding partners for guest room blocks at the hotel. In addition, Courtney Hernandez has joined the hotel as its sales coordinator.
Rev. Morne’ Meyer has been named pastor of Zion African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. Meyer came to the United States from Cape Town, South Africa, where he pastored Emmanuel Atlantis AME Church and churches in the Cape Annual Conference for a decade. In addition to pastoring, he served as the director of marketing and communications for West Coast College, a technical vocational education and training college.
Patricia O. Vella, a partner at Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP is one of four editors of a new book published by the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section titled “The Role of Directors in M&A Transactions: A Governance Handbook for Directors, Management and Advisors.”

Konrad La Prade has been named director of advertising for the Independent Newsmedia Delmarva group, including the Delaware State News. Since Konrad’s father, Darel, is the Delmarva group publisher, Konrad will report directly to Mr. Dulin to avoid any conflict or nepotism.
Sussex Technical High School math teacher Dontez Collins, a nine-year teaching veteran and a Sussex Tech alumnus, has been named the district’s 2020 Teacher of the Year.
Philip Amoa has been promoted to partner at McCarter & English. He is based out of both the Wilmington and Philadelphia offices of the firm and focuses his practice on corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity and Delaware corporate governance issues. Amoa is a founder and member of McCarter & English’s Delaware corporate and alternative entity law group and works in the structuring and organization of Delaware business entities. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and secretary of the Delaware BioScience Association.
Marvin Mailey, who was named Dover’s first African-American police chief in 2017, is retiring on May 17. Mailey, who has been with the department since 1993, came to Delaware in 1989, when he began working as a correctional officer. Since becoming chief in 2017, he has focused on reducing violent crime in Dover. He has also emphasized community policing, a strategy that focuses on building ties and working closely with residents.
Candace (Candy) Littell Maxwell of Wilmington has been named chair of the Chautauqua Institution Board of Trustees, the first woman to hold that position. Maxwell is a retired strategic adviser with more than 30 years of diverse experience in business leadership, governance, policy and strategy.
Jamie Sechler has been promoted to principal at Davis, Bowen & Friedel Inc. Sechler, a senior civil engineer, has been with DBF for 14 years and will continue to design and manage site design and civil engineering projects throughout Delaware.

Upon graduating from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Michael joined the firm full time and was named a principal in 2018. He played a vital role in the opening of Becker Morgan Group’s Newark office, strengthening the firm’s statewide presence, experience and diversity. Michael is an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Delaware, where he has served a multitude of roles, including serving as president, and is currently the national director, representing the state
of Delaware.
