Michael DiPaolo has joined the Delaware Community Foundation as vice president for southern Delaware. As part of the DCF’s philanthropy team, DiPaolo will work to grow the strong, active network of philanthropists in southern Delaware and oversee operations of the DCF’s Georgetown office. DiPaolo moved to Delaware in 2001 to begin his previous position as executive director of the Lewes Historical Society, where he led significant growth in the organization’s membership, endowment and impact. He has served on multiple Delaware and national boards, including the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Delaware Heritage Commission, Delaware Museum Association and Delaware Tourism Alliance.
Michael Galtman has been named vice president and chief accounting officer for Chesapeake Utilities Corp. He will be responsible for technical accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis and planning, which includes budgeting, forecasting and the financial component of strategic planning. He will work closely with the executive leadership team on long-term financial planning and execution including mergers and acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.
Wilson Davis will become New Castle County Attorney in early June, replacing Carol Dulin. Davis has served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Delaware Department of Justice since May 2018, where he has handled a variety of litigation cases for the Department’s Civil Division. For a decade before that, Davis served as an Assistant County Attorney for New Castle County, where he acted as lead and supporting counsel in civil litigation before all Delaware Courts and resolved numerous disputes as the County’s representative in mediation and binding arbitration. “Carol has served two County Executives, the entire County Council and the people of New Castle County with dignity and excellence for many years,” County Executive Matt Meyer said. “We look forward to Wilson Davis, with his decade of experience in service to the public, carrying on that tradition of excellence.
Kelleigh Davis has joined the Courtyard by Marriott Newark at the University of Delaware as the hotel’s new sales manager.
Jeffrey Marsico of Diamond State Financial Group’s Media office, has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. The CFP designation is awarded to experienced candidates who complete a prescribed program of study and a 10-hour comprehensive exam, and fulfill certain ethical and professional experience requirements. Designees receive training in financial planning; more specifically, income tax, cash flow, retirement, estate and investment planning.
Stephanie Lampkin, an expert in African American and Native American history, is the next director of the Jane and Littleton Mitchell Center for African American Heritage, located within the Delaware History Museum. Lampkin most recently served as the Museum Collections Manager at the Science History Institute in Philadelphia and formerly served as an educator and curatorial assistant at the George Read House & Gardens, which is owned by the DHS.
Brian Gottesman, a partner with Berger Harris, has been accepted to the employment, real estate and Delaware-at-large panels of distinguished neutrals of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. Gottesman serves as counsel in a variety of ADR proceedings, such as mandatory court-ordered mediations and contractually mandated arbitrations. In addition to being a distinguished neutral, Gottesman is a Delaware Superior Court-certified mediator and is certified by the Delaware State Bar Association to act as an arbitrator in employment law disputes.
Yolanda Rushdan has joined the Delaware Community Foundation as program associate. A native of North Carolina who came to Delaware in 1993, Rushdan most recently served as the director of development at Exceptional Care for Children, Delaware’s first and only pediatric nursing home. She previously worked in development at the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and at the Delaware Children’s Museum (DCM), where she was a founding staff member. During her time at the DCM, Rushdan served as associate director of development, director of operations and director of development.
