Cheryl Corn has been named senior director of major and planned gifts in Delaware Technical Community College’s Development division. In this role, Cheryl will provide collegewide leadership for prospecting and securing individual, corporate, and foundation donors through outright gifts, naming opportunities, endowments, planned gifts, corporate grants, and major gift/capital campaigns. Cheryl comes to Del Tech from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, where she has served since 2008 and was chief operating officer since 2017.
Jim Bertuola has been named vice president and head of Momentum Logistics’ new operation in Delaware at the Port of Wilmington. Momentum Logistics is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Gulftainer Group. Bertuola has been with Burris Logistics of New Castle, DE, since 2006, where he was vice president and general manager, responsible for two facilities with $375 million in sales and 202 union employees.
U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) has been awarded the John S. McCain Service to Country Award from Voices for National Service, an organization working to ensure Americans of all ages can serve and volunteer in their community.

The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria. Santora CPA Group, a Newark-based Certified Public Accounting and Consulting firm, has added the
following new team members:
- Richard F. Cairns has joined the trust services team as a marketing director. He comes to the firm with 40+ years of experience in bank wealth management and trust administration. Previously, Rick served as a CEO of a bank-owned Delaware trust company. He currently serves as president of the Delaware Museum of Natural History and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Delaware.
- Evan M. Brabson, CPA has joined the firm as a staff accountant. He is a 2017 graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He will be providing auditing, accounting, and a variety of tax preparation services to the firm’s clients.
- Rachael A. Prather has joined the administrative team as an administrative assistant. She previously worked in a wide array of industries and thrives on “behind-the-scenes” administrative roles and has nearly 20 years of intensive customer service experience.
Suzanne Murphy has been promoted to project manager from estimator in the Wilmington office at Wohlsen Construction Co. She has been a member of the Delaware Valley Special Projects Group since joining Wohlsen in 2011.
The Delaware Hotel and Lodging Association named its “STARS of the Industry” at its annual dinner on Feb. 21. Winners included:
The Buccini/Pollin Group, led by founders Robert E. Buccini and David B. Pollin, was named “Tourism Development Partner of the Year 2020” for its development of the Westin Wilmington Hotel and the Homewood Suites Wilmington and its inspiration to other developers to build at the site with the Hyatt Place Wilmington. The association said, “bringing jobs and business is key to any city’s success, and [BPG] has taken the lead in hotels, apartments, condo, dining and recreation” to help Wilmington prosper.
Sarah Willoughby, executive director of the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau, was named Allied Member of the Year, given to “a leader who is a friend of hospitality and helps promote and support the industry.” Willoughby was recognized for her and her team’s leadership in marketing New Castle County and our Delaware region to travelers and industry press. Sarah has managed all activities of the bureau for the past 16 years, including strategic direction as well as day to day management of staff and activities.
Lauren Herlihy has been named president of SoDel Cares, the charitable arm of SoDel Concepts, a hospitality group with 12 restaurants in Sussex County. Herlihy, who is a director of operations for SoDel Concepts, will serve a two-year term. For the past two years, she’s been active on the organizing committee for the annual SoDel Cares fundraiser. The foundation was created to honor the philanthropic work of SoDel Concepts’ founder, Matt Haley, who died in 2014.
