Scott Kammerer, president of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware-based SoDel Concepts, was recently named to Nation’s Restaurant News’ 2020 list of the most influential leaders in the restaurant industry.
Kammerer started his career in the Delaware hospitality industry in 1992 as a dishwasher in Rehoboth Beach. By 1996, he was the general manager of a popular seafood restaurant. He is now one of the most successful restaurant developers in the history of Delaware. Kammerer is a past recipient of the Delaware Restaurant Association’s Cornerstone Award and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business Award, and is currently chairman of the Delaware Restaurant Association.
Ted C. Williams, PE, FACEC, ExecEng, president of Landmark Science & Engineering was named 2020 Delaware Engineer of the Year by the Delaware Engineering Society at its annual Engineers Week Banquet in February. Ted Williams, has comprehensive experience from working 44 years in civil engineering, site design, and project management on a wide variety of land development, transportation, and construction projects. Throughout a stellar 32 year career with Landmark, Ted helped to build and lead a successful, regional civil engineering, surveying and environmental services consulting firm.
Governor John Carney has announced his intention to nominate New Castle County Superior Court Judge Charlie Butler as Superior Court Resident Judge for New Castle County. Judge Butler – who since 2012 has served as a judge on the Superior Court in New Castle County – would replace Resident Judge of Superior Court Richard “Dick” Cooch, who retired in January. Governor Carney also intends to nominate Delaware Attorney Francis “Pete” Jones to serve on the Superior Court, replacing Judge Butler.
Marc Coté has been selected as the new director of planning for the Delaware Department of Transporation. During his 30-year career with the Department, Marc has worked in road design and served as a project manager in the Corridor Management, Quality Management, and Project Management in the Division of Transportation Solutions. In 2005, Marc moved to the Division of Planning to become the subdivision engineer and in 2012 the assistant director of planning for Development Coordination. Marc succeeds Drew Boyce who retired from the Department on March 30 after more than 34 years of service to the State of Delaware.
Dena Glaesar has joined College Ave Student Loans as chief legal officer.
LeDee Lickle Wakefield has joined the Delaware Botanic Gardens board of directors. LeDee has extensive experience on the boards of Preservation Delaware, Young Friends of the Brandywine River Museum, Delaware Guidance Services for Children and Youth, Planned Parenthood, and Paws for People.
Sandra Bihary-Waltz and Dr. Dalen Keys have joined the Sunday Breakfast Mission board of directors.
• Sandi comes to the board with 30 years of experience as a senior level executive and subject matter expert in the pharmaceutical industry. She was recognized as a Top Women of Business by Delaware Today in 2019. She has served on the American Cancer Society Advisory Board in DE; Meals on Wheels – Celebrity Chef’s Auction, board member, and auction committee member; Wilmington Flower Market; Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay board of advisors; and many other organizations.
• Dalen comes to the board with 35+ years of experience in his roles as a research chemist at the DuPont Company. He has been awarded eight patents; published numerous articles in the sciences and non-sciences; and was the University of North Alabama’s alumni of the year in 2006. He is also an author of children’s picture books, tween novels and children’s eBooks.
Peter M. Bradshaw Jr, ChFC®, CPFA, has been named associate partner with Newark-based Diamond State Financial Group. Peter’s practice focuses on private client financial planning, and retirement plan construction for businesses and non-profit organizations. In addition to obtaining his Chartered Financial Consultant designation, Peter earned the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designation through National Association of Plan Advisors.
