Richards, Layton & Finger has announced that Lori Brewington has been accepted into the 2021 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows Program, and Angela Lam and Frank Sun have been accepted into the 2021 LCLD Pathfinders Program. These programs recognize diverse attorneys and serve as a platform for their continued professional growth and development. The Fellows Program, designed for mid-career attorneys, and the Pathfinder Program, for early-career attorneys, offer tools and strategies focused on professional and personal development, relationship-building, and leadership training.
Brewington represents corporate and business clients in labor and employment matters. She provides employment advice on major transactions as well as on a broad range of employment issues, and assists clients before federal and state agencies and courts in employment and discrimination disputes. Brewington also trains managers and employees on compliance with evolving employment laws. Her pro bono work includes providing legal advice to Delaware nonprofits and serving as a child attorney for neglected and abused children.

Lam concentrates primarily on litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court involving corporate governance, corporate control, fiduciary duties, and contractual and commercial disputes. She also has served as a child attorney representing abused, neglected children in Delaware’s family court. In law school, Lam was a member of moot court, the trial team, and the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class, and she served as president of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.

Sun focuses on commercial transactions, providing advice on the formation, structuring, and operation of Delaware corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships. He also assists clients with choice of law issues and the creation and perfection of security interests under Article 9 of the Delaware Uniform Commercial Code. Sun was a panelist at Cornell Law School’s 2020 BLSA/LALSA/NALSA professional development boot camp, and he volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware. He is fluent in Mandarin. mothers

Fredrick J. Dawson, president of Bassett, Dawson & Foy, Inc. and Wealth Manager was among the Raymond James-affiliated advisors named to the Forbes list of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, which recognizes advisors from national, regional and independent firms.

Randy L. Stone, president of DuPont Mobility & Materials, will serve as chair of the Wilmington Heart Walk 2021, which will be held on the Riverfront in Wilmington on Nov. 7 (depending on statewide Covid-19 restrictions) and will support the American Heart Association, whose mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

The Wilmington Heart Walk is an opportunity for participants to walk in honor of those who suffer from heart disease and to raise funds for the advancement of research initiatives and community education programs. Heart disease is our nation’s #1 cause of death, claiming nearly a million American lives a year, more than all forms of cancer combined.

This event will take all precautions and measures to adhere to current Delaware state COVID-19 regulations.

Adrian Sam has joined CBRE at the company’s Philadelphia-area offices. In his new role, Sam will partner with the region’s market leading multifamily capital markets team.
Sam has more than 13 years of experience in client relationship management, strategic planning and new-market business development within the broadcast media and consumer event industries.
Over the past two years, the greater Philadelphia multifamily capital markets team completed 35 transactions representing nearly 10,000 units and totaling approximately $1.7 billion in sales. Currently, the team has 13 properties under agreement valued at approximately $300 million, with 13 current listings valued at $445 million.

Dr. Tarek Waked has joined Beebe Healthcare and will lead the Beebe Center for Weight Loss Surgery.
“Dr. Waked is a proven general surgeon with expertise in bariatric procedures and will be an asset to the Beebe team,” said Dr. David Tam president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare. “Adding experts in their field to Beebe’s already exemplary Medical Staff is how we will continue expanding access to primary and specialty care to our community.”
Waked has performed more than 2,000 successful bariatric surgeries during his career and he is an expert in sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and biliary-pancreatic diversion with duodenal switch procedures. He also performs revisional surgeries for sleeves and bypass as well as general surgery such minimally invasive colon surgery, hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery and anti-reflux surgery.
Kimberly Hyatt a registered dietitian specializing in obesity related care, will join Dr. Waked at the center and will serve as the program manager and dietitian.
Hyatt received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is scheduled to complete her Master of Public Health through University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her thesis is focused on the relationship between genetic-environmental factors and obesity. She has worked extensively in acute care, critical care, and community nutrition. Her last 5 years have been focused on obesity medicine.
Dr. Waked completed his residency in general surgery at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia. During his years of training, Dr. Waked received multiple awards for his skills and knowledge in surgery.

Charles Elson, professor of finance at the University of Delaware, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Boardroom Alpha, a ratings and analytics platform providing quantitative measurements of public company directors, chief financial officers and CEOs. Elson brings extensive academic and industry experience to the company which is setting the standard for the evaluation and selection of public company directors, officers, and corporate governance.

Abby Mrozinski will become the head of Global Capital Markets (GCM) at Wilmington Trust, and will be reporting to Bill Farrell, head of Institutional Client Services. Wilmington Trust’s longtime head of GCM, Jack Beeson, recently announced his retirement after serving Wilmington Trust and parent company M&T Bank for more than 38 years.

Mrozinski has served as chief financial officer for the firm’s wealth and Institutional Client Services for the past four years and has guided institutional clients for more than 15 years, by providing strategic support as a relationship manager and in various other capacities.
In 2019, Abby was named to the national American Banker Most Powerful Women in Banking: NEXT list, which recognizes the top 15 women in the banking profession, under age 40.

Peter J. Walsh Jr., a member of Potter Anderson’s Executive Committee, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America. He was inducted at the college’s virtual Spring Meeting on March 5.
Walsh is the leader of Potter Anderson’s Corporate Litigation Group, which has been praised by Chambers USA for “its reputation as one of the leading firms in the Delaware Chancery space.” Walsh has first-chaired many trials in the Delaware courts, and has successfully argued numerous appeals before the Supreme Court of Delaware, as well as several in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Realtors Steve Cooper and Rick Nibblett have joined Callaway, Farnell and Moore Inc.

Cooper has been licensed since 1979 and is currently an Associate Broker in both Delaware and Maryland. Nibblett decided to enter the wonderful world of real estate in 2019 and is licensed in Delaware.
