Stephen J. Kraftschik, an intellectual property litigator at Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP, has been promoted to special counsel. Steve focuses on patent disputes before the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Since starting his IP litigation practice at Morris Nichols in 2011, he has been involved in all phases of litigation, including fact discovery, motions practice, discovery, trial, and appeal. His experience includes patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright litigation.
Delaware Department of Transportation Secretary Jennifer Cohan has been elected to serve as chair of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. Cohan will be chair as ITS America hosts the 2020 ITS World Congress in October 2020. This event will bring 10,000 transportation experts from around the world to Los Angeles to discuss the new age of mobility with a focus on seamless mobility in an increasingly complex world.
Justin Day has been promoted to chief of partner services for the Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI). In his new role, Justin will lead the new Office of Partner Services – which will comprise Partner Engagement, End-User Services, and Statewide IT Support Center teams. As part of DTI’s ongoing transformative digital government approach, he will work to better align partner roles and IT solutions with business strategy, enhance support options, and implement a new enterprise managed and brokered service offering to maximize value for all stakeholders. Over the last 20 years, Justin has served in key leadership roles at DTI in the areas of IT Service Management, End-User Services, and Data Center Operations. Most recently, Justin served as the Director of Data Center & Operations where he led successful efforts to centralize mission-critical infrastructure, modernize network operations, and transform how end-user services are delivered to agency partners. Justin is also a Leadership Delaware Fellow.
Carl Wahlig has become president of the New Castle County Board of Realtors. He has served on the board of directors as president-elect (2019) and director (2018) in addition to serving as a member of the Education Committee and Broker Engagement Committee. Jessica Tyler has been promoted to shareholder in Marshall Dennehey’s casualty department. Jessica focuses her practice on general liability, automobile liability, premises liability, professional liability, and construction defect litigation. She additionally handles cases in the firm’s Fraud/Special Investigative Practice Group, where she evaluates medical provider fraud and manages PIP disputes throughout
the state of Delaware.
Kyle Hains has joined the Milford office of Davis, Bowen & Friedel as a CAD technician, assisting the civil engineering department. Hains is involved in a wide range of residential and commercial projects, which include the Millsboro Professional Center, Carillion Square Apartments, and Vineyards Apartments in Sussex, County.
Jennifer Antonik has been named public relations coordinator for the Delaware Farm Bureau and editor of its newspaper, Delaware Farm Bureau News. She is replacing Carol Kinsey, who is retiring. Antonik brings four years of experience as the news editor for The Chronicle in Milford and reporter for the Delaware State News.
Charles Martin of ERA Harrington Realty in Dover and Frank Serio of Keller Williams Real Estate in Bethany Beach are serving on the 2020 board of directors for Bright MLS, the leading multiple listing service (MLS) in the mid-Atlantic region.
Jason Focacci has joined Wheeler Wolfenden and Dwares, CPAs in its audit and tax practices as a staff accountant. Focacci earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from West Chester (Pennsylvania) University.
Molly Giordano, a 10-year officer of the Delaware Art Museum, has been named interim executive director, replacing Sam Sweet, who has left the organization. Giordano, who has been the museum’s chief operating officer, has held multiple roles at the museum including leading marketing, communications and development and earlier in her career worked for Gov. Jack Markell. Sweet joined the Rockford Park institution in July 2016, after a challenging period for the museum when financial difficulties tied to a significant expansion and the Great Recession forced the sale of artwork, bringing national attention in the close-knit art world.
Eric S. Klinger-Wilensky, a partner with Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP, co-edited a new resource for M&A transaction planners titled “The Model Tender Offer Agreement,” with Michael G. O’Bryan of Morrison & Foerster. The document is the culmination of an eight-year effort undertaken by the ABA Business Law Section’s Mergers and Acquisitions Committee’s Task Force Two-Step Tender Offers.
