Jim Hutchinson has been named Delaware Market Executive for PNC Bank. A PNC veteran, Hutchinson adds more than 30 years of financial services experience to the Delaware team. In addition to serving as market executive, Hutchinson has become wealth director for the market.
Michael Smith has been promoted to chief financial officer of the New Castle County government, pending approval from New Castle County Council. Smith is currently deputy chief financial officer and director of operations. Smith will replace outgoing CFO David Gregor, who retires on Dec. 31.
Debbie Short has been honored with the 2019 Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award. In 2016, Short founded the Barbara K. Brooks Transition House in Georgetown to honor the lifelong work of her late sister, a nurse and longtime advocate for women’s health-care concerns. The home provides a safe, sober and structured living environment for women who have completed addiction rehabilitation.
Stanford A. Stanford Sr., a longtime bank regulatory and compliance expert, has joined WSFS Bank, the primary subsidiary of WSFS Financial Corp., as senior vice president and chief compliance officer. Reporting to WSFS Chief Risk Officer Paul Greenplate, Stanford will lead the design and execution of the bank’s compliance risk management (CRM) program and related policies and will partner with executive and senior management to ensure the bank is compliant with banking regulations.
Donna Girod of The Lisa Mathena Group has been awarded the Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE) certification, the premier negotiation credential in the country. The RENE certification is conferred by the Real Estate Business Institute (REBI).
Goldey-Beacom College President Dr. Colleen Perry Keith has been selected to become the Region 1 Representative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Presidents Council. Dr. Keith’s term begins following the adjournment of the Division II Business Session at the 2020 NCAA Convention.
Dion Inge of Wilmington has been selected as the Pressley Ridge Fay Mosle Generosity Award honoree for 2019. After having spent 13 years in foster care, Dion became a social worker to make a difference in the lives of kids in similar situations. In the past year as a treatment coordinator for the Treatment Foster Care Program at Pressley Ridge, he has made a tremendous impact on the youth, families and staff with whom he works. Dion is the co-founder of Our Boys, Our Men Inc., a nonprofit mentoring organization to support young minority males ages 10-24 with the goal of defeating stigma and stereotypes through educational and social skill groups and experiences.
Matthew B. Harvey will become a partner at Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP, effective Jan. 1. Matt focuses on Chapter 11 business bankruptcy, bankruptcy litigation, reorganization, and restructuring.
Vicki Marshall-Wingate has joined Arthur Hall Insurance as an account manager in the Hockessin office. Vicki works directly with Agency Principal Glenn D. Burcham, CIC, CRM, supporting a large and diverse book of nonprofit organizations.
Courtyard by Marriott Newark — University of Delaware Assistant General Manager Rebecca Streets Montagna and Director of Sales Melissa Driggs have attained the Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA).
Tara J. Bolinski has joined the trust services team at Santora CPA Group. She came to the firm having expertise in new business acceptance, trust compliance, administration, and client service. Previously, Tara worked as a social worker for a nonprofit organization. Her most recent role was on-boarding manager at a Wilmington-based trust company.
Olivia R. Jamison has joined Santora CPA Group as a staff accountant. She is a December 2018 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Delaware and recently passed the Uniform CPA Examination.
Lori Schneider has joined Cover & Rossiter as a principal in the audit department. Schneider has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining Cover & Rossiter, she was a senior manager at Wipfli LLP. Prior to that, she spent 10 years at KPMG and was a past Deputy Auditor of the State of Delaware.
State Rep. Quinton Johnson of Middletown was presented the 2019 Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award, and the William Walther family was awarded the NCCFB’s Farm Family of the Year for continuing the farming tradition despite pressure from developers at the New Castle County Farm Bureau banquet.
Ingrid Burnett, educational director/owner of Abrakadoodle Wilmington, was honored at Sterling, Virginia–based Abrakadoodle’s 15th annual conference with the 2019 Splat Award for the most creative promotion of the brand, and with the Doodle Dozen Award for outstanding performance during the year.
Michael J. Hare will receive the Msgr. Thomas J. Reese Award at the Catholic Charities Annual Tribute Dinner on April 1. The award, created in 1989 in memory of Msgr. Thomas J. Reese, community activist and longtime director of Catholic Social Services, the forerunner of Catholic Charities, recognizes exemplary individuals who have demonstrated a deep commitment to promoting and restoring the well-being of people – Catholic Charities’ mission. Mike serves on Bishop Malooly’s Pastoral Council and on the Vocations Admissions Board for the Diocese of Wilmington. Mike also served as president of St. Elizabeth Parish Council and is a founder and chair of the annual Feast of Saint Elizabeth Celebration. He is co-chair of the St. Patrick’s Day Society, which has raised more than $2 million for the St. Patrick’s Center, an organization that provides vital services for the underserved on Wilmington’s East Side. Hare is executive vice president for development at the Buccini/Pollin Group. Prior to joining Buccini/Pollin, Mike served as deputy director of the Riverfront Development Corp. of Delaware (RDC), where he helped lead the $1 billion transformation of the Wilmington Riverfront.

Satheesh Nadarajah has joined the Delaware Community Foundation as an accountant. As part of the DCF’s finance team, Nadarajah will be the point of contact for various fund-holders to process grant requests and resolve all accounting questions. Nadarajah immigrated to the United States five years ago from Sri Lanka, where he worked as a national administrator for Handicap International and an accountant for World Vision International and Family Rehabilitation Centre.
The Beebe Health Care Foundation has added two new board members and thanked their predecessors.
• Nancy Levenson has joined the board, replacing Janet McCarty, who has been associated with the foundation since 2001. McCarty has been on the Beebe Medical Center board since 1994 and served as chair from 2004-2010. Levenson is vice president for global government relations for St. Paul, Minnesota-based Ecolab Inc.
• Brad Travis Jr. will become chair of the foundation’s board of ambassadors, replacing Benedette Cooper, who served in that role for four years and on the group itself for nine years. Travis, who is a financial adviser and vice president with PNC Investments, has been an ambassador for the past five years.
Chad D. Carter, RLA, ASLA, of Becker Morgan Group has been named to the Delaware State Board of Landscape Architecture by Gov. John Carney. Carter has 12 years of landscape architecture experience and has been a licensed landscape architect in the Delaware since 2012. In addition to his appointment to the State Board of Landscape Architecture, Chad is also a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and previously served on the City of Milford’s Board of Adjustment.
Rev. Erika D. Crawford received Delaware State University’s 2019 Community Faith Partner Award during the annual President’s Prayer Breakfast on Sept. 20. Rev. Crawford, the pastor of Mount Zion AME Church of Dover, was recognized for her initiative to start prayer circles at all the schools in the Capital School District and some schools in the Caesar Rodney School District.
