WSFS Bank announced Oct. 18 that Shari Kruzinski has been named executive vice president and chief customer officer (CCO) reporting to Rodger Levenson, chairman, president and CEO. In her new role, she will lead the Bank’s Customer division including customer experience and enterprise-wide customer initiatives. Kruzinski will continue to oversee the bank’s retail offices, contact center, and retail operations, which all have significant customer accountability.
Kruzinski will replace current Executive Vice President Peggy Eddens, who plans to retire at the end of 2021.
Kruzinski started in 1989 at WSFS as a floating teller. As her career at WSFS progressed, her responsibilities expanded and she was promoted in April 2021 to executive vice president, director of retail delivery, where she oversaw six banking regions, 89 banking offices, more than 700 Associates and a contact center. She was instrumental in developing and executing key retail banking initiatives during the pandemic, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of associates, while also providing essential banking services to customers. Kruzinski was integral in the integrations of First National Bank of Wyoming, Alliance Bank, Penn Liberty Bank, and Beneficial Bank into WSFS Bank and is one of the executives leading WSFS’ current combination with Bryn Mawr Trust.
Col. Douglas A. Stouffer assumed command of the 512th Airlift Wing in an Oct. 18 ceremony.

Addressing the Airmen of the Liberty Wing, Stouffer expressed his feelings on taking command of Delaware’s only Air Force Reserve unit.
In a COVID-19 mitigation-friendly environment, the ceremony was presided over by the commander of the 4th Air Force, Maj. Gen. Jeffrey T. Pennington.
The 512th AW, also known as the Liberty Wing, is an Air Force Reserve Command associate wing of 1,650 Reserve Citizen Airmen that support AFRC’s and Air Mobility Command’s worldwide airlift mission, operating the C-5M Super Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.
Stouffer is a command pilot with more than 6,000 flight hours, including over 400 combat hours. Prior to taking command of the Liberty Wing, he led the 927th Air Refueling Wing, based at MacDill AFB, Florida.

The Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) welcomed new board member Theodore W. Becker of Lewes, prior to the bi-state agency’s monthly meeting. Commissioner Becker replaces Jim Ford who resigned in late July. On Oct. 13, the Delaware State Senate unanimously confirmed his nomination. His term extends to July 1, 2022.
A U.S. Army veteran, Becker is a managing partner of Stewart Becker Properties and the owner of the Inn at Canal Square in Lewes. Prior to starting his own successful real estate venture, Becker worked as a regional/national sales manager for Nationwide Distributor of Textiles and Wall Coverings for nearly 20 years. Since 2004, Mr. Becker has served his hometown community on the Lewes City Council – with the last seven years as the city’s mayor.
The commission is comprised of 12 commissioners – six each from New Jersey and Delaware – who are appointed by their respective governors.

Goldey-Beacom College congratulates Maureen Tomey, alumni and event specialist, as a recipient of the 2021-2022 Rising Star award presented by the Delaware ACE Women’s Network (DAWN). The honor was presented at the DAWN Rising Star and Leadership Awards Celebration on Oct. 21.
The Rising Star award is presented to one person from each member institution. Criteria for the award include a strong commitment to any aspect of higher education, community service and the promise of future leadership.
Tomey has worked for Goldey-Beacom College since 2016 as an alumni and event specialist. In her current role, she works closely with the Alumni Board of Directors to identify alumni needs and interests, and plan effective points of engagement. In 2020, she spearheaded a strategic initiative to create an Alumni Mentorship Program and organized an advisory committee to identify the parameters and technological needs of the program. Tomey has collaborated with other departments on collegewide events such as Legacy Weekend and Convocation.

Dr. Denise Wells, dean of the College of Health Professions at Wilmington University, has earned the 2021 DAWN Leadership Award. The Delaware American Council on Education Women’s Network (DAWN) grants its Leadership Award to a woman in higher education who has excelled in the industry and serves as a role model to its rising stars. The honor was presented at the DAWN Rising Star and Leadership Awards Celebration on Oct. 21.
Before joining the university, Wells served as the director of nursing of a free-standing, ambulatory surgery center and a clinical faculty member at the Beebe School of Nursing.

Also honored with Wilmington University’s Rising Star Award was academic advisor Ashlee Youmans, who holds two master’s degrees and is working toward her doctorate. Youmans was selected for her strong work ethic and exemplary student service. She also has served in the Army National Guard.
