Beebe Medical Group welcomes board certified cardiothoracic surgeon Marisa H. Amaral, MD, MS.
Dr. Amaral earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College in 2007. She completed both a surgical research residency and a general surgery residency at Baystate Medical Center, followed by a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at UC-Davis Medical Center.
She then completed her fellowship in thoracic oncology and robotic surgery at Moffitt Cancer Center in 2017.
“Cardiothoracic surgery is a staple of a providing the best care to our community,” Stephen Keiser, Chief Administrative Officer, Beebe Medical Group, said in a statement. “Dr. Amaral is another great addition to our Medical Staff. Please welcome her to our community and Team Beebe.”
Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), has announced Principal Ring W. Lardner, P.E., has been named president of the firm.
With over nineteen years of experience with DBF, having served as an associate for five years and as principal for over seven, Lardner is set to lead the firm in this newly appointed role following a planned transition that was initiated a year ago. He will oversee over 100 employees throughout all three of the firm’s office locations in Milford, Delaware, and Salisbury and Easton, Maryland.

Serving as one of six principals, Lardner has cultivated critical leadership competencies while managing both the municipal and site department out of the Milford, Delaware office. Lardner’s depth of industry experience includes site engineering for federal, state and local projects, as well as private sector community design, with his most notable projects being Governors multi-family development in Sussex County, Champions Club in Kent County, and a soon to be constructed 600,000 square foot warehouse in Middletown.
Shore United Bank celebrates Sanjeev (Jay) Baligar on 20 years of service. Sanjeev began his career with the bank in June of 2002 on the front line at the Arbutus branch in Baltimore, MD. Currently, he holds the role of Branch Banking Supervisor in Elkridge, overseeing the daily operational function of the line and managing the team to ensure smooth and orderly operation, while also assisting with sales initiatives and providing the highest quality of service to every customer.

Duane Morris LLP announced Rebecca Guzman has been promoted to the firm partnership.
Guzman practices in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in its Wilmington office. She focuses on the representation of startups and emerging growth companies with a focus on life science companies in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostics and healthcare IT industries. Guzman’s practice spans the entire corporate lifecycle, from formation through liquidity. In addition to her company client counsel, Guzman represents a number of prominent venture capital funds and institutional investors in their financing activities and currently serves as a vice chair of the M&A Division of the firm.

She is also a graduate of Lehigh University (B.A., with highest honors, 2007), where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Charles J. Durante, a partner of Connolly Gallagher LLP, has been elected president the 75th of the Delaware State Bar Association.
Chuck Durante was one of the founding partners of Connolly Gallagher, where he practices in taxation, trusts and estates. He has served on the Bar Association’s executive committee since 2014, and has chaired the Association’s Sections of Taxation and of Trusts and Estates.
Active in a leadership role for many charitable and civic organizations, Chuck is Chair of the Board of Editors of Delaware Lawyer, a quarterly publication of the Delaware Bar Foundation, President of the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame, President of the Delaware Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association and a Trustee of the Delaware Historical Society.
Chuck is a graduate of Haverford College and Villanova Law School, a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Delaware Track and Field Hall of Fame. In 1998 he received the Alumni Award of Haverford College in 1998, reflecting his sustained service and active support of the work of the College
The Delaware Division of the Arts welcomed Andy Truscott as the program officer, marketing and communications and The Delaware Arts Alliance welcomed Neil Kirschling as the new executive director.
Truscott will be responsible for coordinating all agency communications through social media, news releases, and publications; along with management of the state arts calendar and communications with grantees and constituents about Division programs and events.
Andy has spent the last ten years working intimately in the arts in Delaware: five years with the Delaware Theatre Company as their Director of Marketing and Development, and five years with The Grand Opera House as their Associate Director of Marketing. He was also a founding board member of the inWilmington Marketing Campaign and has been named one of Delaware’s 40 Under 40 by Delaware Business Times.
Kirschling joins DAA at a crucial time, as they continue their work with the DDOA and the General Assembly’s Arts and Culture Caucus to promote equitable access to the arts in Delaware, particularly in K-12 classrooms. He will also guide the statewide cultural recovery and economic growth plan. This plan is funded by a $1 million grant through Governor Carney’s American Rescue Plan Travel, Tourism, and Outdoor Recreation program, secured by Jessica Ball during her tenure.
