Delaware’s Congresswoman-elect Sarah McBride announced the hire of Michaela Kurinsky-Malos to be her deputy chief of staff and communications director.
In a statement, Congresswoman-elect McBride said of Kurinsky-Malos joining the team, “I am thrilled that Michaela will continue to serve in a critical role on my team. I would not have the privilege of serving the people of Delaware in Congress without Michaela’s tireless leadership as my campaign manager over the last year. Over her career, Michaela has fought to elect pro-union public servants dedicated to expanding the middle class in America. She will bring those values to our Congressional office and will help to ensure that our office remains focused on communicating with our constituents first and foremost. Michaela is an all-star and I am honored that my fellow Delawareans and I will continue to benefit from her brilliant and dedicated work.”
Michaela most recently served as Congresswoman-elect McBride’s campaign manager in her successful election, carrying McBride to victory in both the primary and general with commanding margins. Before joining the Congresswoman-elect’s team, she managed congressional, down-ballot statewide, and gubernatorial campaigns across the country over the past 5 campaign cycles. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Oregon.
Beebe Healthcare welcomed hospitalist Oluwaseun Adeniyi, MD, Angela Gleysteen, AGACNP-BC, an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner who works on the Intensive Care Unit; and Carla Miller, APRN, CNP, a family nurse practitioner who has joined Beebe Medical Group.
As a hospitalist, Dr. Adeniyi is responsible for admitting patients who present for care in Beebe’s Emergency Department. She provides comprehensive evaluation, monitoring, and care for adult patients admitted to the hospital’s medical units during overnight hours. Prior to joining Beebe Healthcare, she was a resident physician at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in New York. There, Dr. Adeniyi provided care and follow-up treatment for patients and led rapid responses on the medical and critical care units. During this time, she also served as a mentor for medical students and interns.
Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Adeniyi earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (medical degree equivalent) from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria. She completed a clinical externship at Boneguard Orthopedics in Randolph, Massachusetts, followed by internship and residency training at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital and SUNY Downstate in New York. Dr. Adeniyi is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Nigerian Medical Association, and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. She is fluent in both English and Yoruba.
As a board-certified adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner, Gleysteencollaborates with hospital intensivists and other clinical providers in Beebe’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to facilitate patient admissions, optimize care management, and coordinate care for patients who are undergoing treatment for complex conditions. She is a graduate of the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare. She went on to earn her RN-BSN degree from the University of Delaware, then completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University, which allowed her to pursue the Advanced Practice Clinician career path.
Gleysteen has devoted her career, as she has grown professionally, to Beebe. She began her nursing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Women’s and Children’s Unit. After completing her nursing degree, she became a clinical nurse in that unit as well as the Medical/Surgical unit. Several years later, Gleysteen transitioned to the ICU as a bedside nurse, and later served as an ICU charge nurse, managing staffing needs, education, and training while continuing to care for patients. After completing her master’s degree, she moved into her current role.
“I am a native of Sussex County and always knew that Beebe was the ideal place for me to build my career,” Gleysteen said. “I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to work for my local hospital and care for people who live in the community I call my own.”
Miller, a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Beebe Primary Milford and practices a holistic approach as patients turn to her for medical care. She accounts for mental health, emotional issues, and financial challenges as she guides patients toward better health and wellness. Miller cares for patients of all ages and is experienced in addressing virtually all disease processes, based on her years of nursing experience. She has a special interest in treating thyroid disease and diabetes.
Miller is a graduate of Wilmington University, where she earned both her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Additionally, she trained at Delaware Technical and Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree and diploma in Nursing.

I want my patients to feel comfortable talking with me about any and all concerns.”
Chad Paine has been named vice president of information technology governance, strategy, and portfolio management at ChristianaCare, while Varadarajan Subbiah, M.D., MBA, FACP, CHCQM, has been appointed chief clinical effectiveness officer.
In this role, Paine will lead the IT Project Management Office, overseeing the consistent delivery of high-quality project management services aimed at enhancing business performance, increasing efficiencies and supporting the health system’s strategic and operational priorities.
Paine joined ChristianaCare in January 2022 as corporate director, information services. He previously worked for Tower Health in Reading, Pennsylvania, as director of Client Services Information Technology. Prior to his nearly four years there, Paine spent more than a decade with Berks Homes, a residential construction company, serving as its director of Information Technology.
Paine served in the U.S. Army from 1995 to 2004, holding both training and operational leadership roles, including the oversight of $20 million of missile systems and other military equipment. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer and information science from the University of Phoenix.
As chief clinical effectiveness officer, Subbiah will provide medical leadership and oversee the Clinical Effectiveness Program. He will lead the quality and patient safety program to eliminate preventable patient harm and transform the delivery of care across the continuum.
He led resource utilization strategies supporting high quality, efficient and effective care delivery. He also served as the physician lead for data analysis and strategy development to ensure optimal performance in the areas of clinical quality and external reporting.
Subbiah previously served as medical director of Patient Access and Flow for ChristianaCare and as chief medical officer of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California.
Subbiah earned his medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed an internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Michigan.
Subbiah is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is board certified in internal medicine and holds a certification in health care quality and management.
Bayhealth named Hasitha Vemula, MD, to the Bayhealth Endocrinology, Blue Hen practice in Dover.

Dr. Vemula recently completed a fellowship in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She did her residency in internal medicine at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD, where she completed a rotation in solid tumor oncology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She holds a medical degree from Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh in India.
GGA Construction named Christina Kelley as its new business development manager. In her new role, she will engage with industry-related organizations, represent GGA at community events and on various committees, identify new partnership opportunities, and foster both new and existing relationships.
Throughout her career, Kelley has fostered meaningful community relationships while driving growth through print, digital, and event sponsorship sales. This experience, along with her time at American Express working within the construction sector, provides valuable insights that will enhance GGA Construction’s partnerships.
Kelley’s dedication to the industry is evident in her longstanding involvement with ABC Delaware, where she has been an active member since 2009. Her contributions include serving on the Public Relations Committee, Membership Committee, and volunteering for the ABCares Committee. She is an active participant at industry events and was previously honored as Associate Supplier of the Year by ABC Delaware.
