Dr. Katharine Knobil is joining Agilent Technologies Inc. as the company’s chief medical officer. The chief medical officer at Agilent is a newly created position designed to advise, lead, and elevate the company’s presence in the health-care industry. As Agilent’s first CMO, she will play a key role in the company’s efforts to expand its leadership in precision medicine, supporting development of novel therapeutics to allow clinicians to identify appropriate patients and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
“Kate is an important addition to the Agilent team,” said Mike McMullen, Agilent president and CEO. “As we see continued new developments in patient care and as Agilent products and services become increasingly essential to the health-care industry around the world, Kate’s knowledge, experience and insights will be critical for us to achieve our objectives.”
Knobil has more than 20 years of experience in clinical development and medical affairs while serving in strategic leadership roles across the globe. She has led development and medical affairs functions in the U.S., Europe, and in emerging markets.
Prior to joining Agilent, Knobil served as CMO and head of research and development at Kaleido Biosciences, where she applied her pharmaceutical-development experience to guide the company in its approach to translating the promise of the microbiome into solutions for patients. Knobil’s prior experience also includes tenure at GlaxoSmithKline, where she served in a variety of leadership roles, including head of late-stage clinical development in China, head of value evidence and outcomes, and CMO. During her time with GlaxoSmithKline, she represented the company at multiple health-regulatory agencies in several countries and led presentations for eight U.S. Food and Drug Administration Advisory Committee Meetings.
Christopher Burgos has been named CEO of Diamond State Financial Group in addition to his current role as president and managing partner. The firm was founded by Raymond Bree in 1989 with Burgos joining in 2000. Together, Bree and Burgos grew DSFG to more than 50 employees that serves Delaware and neighboring states.
Burgos is a highly experienced wealth manager and has played an instrumental leadership role at the company, including establishing DSFG’s Medical Professionals Division. He is a contributing author in the book, Real Life Financial Planning for Physicians, and enjoys speaking on various financial topics through frequent seminars and educational events.
Burgos is a graduate from the University of Delaware with a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Management and a minor in Economics. He resides in Hockessin with his wife and 3 children, and is an active member in his community. He has helped fundraise $200k+ for Breast Cancer through the infamous Pong for a Cure event held each October.
Olivia Snow has joined Greenberg Traurig, LLP as an associate in the firm’s Corporate Practice.
Snow focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions, structured finance transactions, matters related to partnerships and limited liability corporations, and formation matters. She has experience rendering opinion letters related to real estate transactions, reviewing mortgage and mezzanine loan documents and security instruments She advises on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae funding, forming Delaware entities, and drafting certificates of incorporation, formation, operating agreements, bylaws, and corporate resolutions. Snow also handles software licensing and technology transactions, structuring employee and independent contractor relationships, and launching and operating sustainable businesses.
Prior to joining the firm, Snow worked for a leading Delaware-based law firm.
Snow earned her J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and her B.A. from Chapman University.
Maurice Winkfield and Sue McCauley have joined Beebe Healthcare as their executive director of Oncology Services and director of Patient Care respectively.
“Both Maurice and Sue provide exceptional leadership for our Oncology Services,” said Dr. David A. Tam, president & CEO of Beebe Healthcare. “Healthcare is changing and so is Beebe. We have an exciting year ahead. We recently introduced renowned breast surgeon Dr. Diana Dickson-Witmer, who sees patients at both our cancer center campuses, as we continue to recruit more surgeons and providers and continue to Create the Next Generation of Care in Sussex County.”
Winkfield joined Beebe Healthcare in 2014 as the director of Patient Access, and later transitioned to the director of Operational Improvement. He has been serving as the interim executive director for Oncology Services since last year, overseeing the Tunnell Cancer Center in Rehoboth Beach and new South Coastal Cancer Center near Millville.
“I joined Beebe because of its connection to the community. I was very impressed with this small hospital that strategically aligns themselves throughout the county with clinics and outpatient facilities,” Winkfield said. “This dedication showed me that Beebe planned to deliver on their promise of caring for the people of Sussex County. Being close to the beach didn’t hurt either.”
McCauley joined Beebe Healthcare in August 2020. She previously worked as a nurse and nursing manager for several health systems in Massachusetts. She earned her master’s degree in nursing management and leadership. She has experience working with oncology patients for large research institutions.
In this new role, McCauley will serve as a conduit between executive leadership, nursing leadership, and clinical staff to promote best practices and quality care for patients.
“I had been working in Boston at large institutions for five years, commuting three hours from my home. Last spring, as the pandemic took hold, I realized my desire to return to a community-based healthcare system. My search led me to Beebe,” McCauley said. “It is a beautiful area with a great sense of community, and I am very excited to be here! It’s a time of growth for Beebe Oncology Services and our cancer centers and I am proud to work with a wonderful leadership team who are engaged and eager to make positive change.”
Erin Schieffer and Mohammed Bouceddi have joined Whisman Giordano & Associates, LLC as a new supervisor and staff accountant, respectively.
Schiefferis proud to be a life-long resident of Delaware and did both her undergraduate and graduate work at Goldey-Beacom College. She holds a BS in Accounting and an MS in Taxation. Within Whisman Giordano, she will be equally focused on both the firm’s audit and tax practices.
“Being from Delaware, and also from a family of accountants, I already knew about Whisman Giordano and their excellent reputation. When I saw an opening, I couldn’t pass it by. It all just fell into place,” Schieffer said.

Lisa Donlon and Darryl Jones are the newest partners at VanDemark & Lynch, Inc.
Donlon is a civil engineer licensed in DE and PA. Her 25-plus years of engineering experience includes commercial and institutional land developments; continuing care residential communities; and residential subdivisions. She also serves as municipal engineer for East Marlborough and Birmingham Townships in PA. Her emphasis is quality design, professional service, and management of resources for a successful project.
Jones is a structural engineer and directs the Steinle Construction Engineering (SCE) division of V&L. He has 25 years of Structural Engineering experience in custom building design for new construction and renovations specializing in retail, multifamily residential, warehouse / industrial, and other low rise structures. His designs focus on minimizing construction costs and maximizing the constructability of projects. He also provides 3rd party plan review services for New Castle County and is an ICC Certified Building Plans Examiner.
Molly Rooney will be joining the First State Ballet Theatre as managing director.
Prior to joining First State Ballet Theatre, Rooney was an account manager at Dandelions Digital. She has served as Director for the National Ballet Competition for the past three years.
As the creator of National Ballet Competition, Rooney will be bringing her unique skills in communications, digital marketing, fundraising and community relations, as well as her passion for ballet, to First State Ballet Theatre.
Rooney is a former professional ballet dancer and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Communications.
