Philanthropy conference and awards planned for Nov. 17

The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Brandywine Chapter  will hold is 2015 National Philanthropy Day Conference and Award Ceremony November 17 at the Chase Center at the Riverfront in Wilmington.

The conference, which runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will bring together more than 350 regional funders, community members, nonprofits and civic leaders for networking and learning more about the issues affecting philanthropy locally.

The awards luncheon will celebrate volunteers, youth in philanthropy and organizations that make notable impacts locally. This year, they include Charles F. Gummey Jr., Braeden Mannering, Stacey Bacchieri, Michelle Taylor, Kanani Hines, Gals That Give and St. Elizabeth High School.

The keynote speaker will be Emmett D. Carson, founding CEO of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, who created the nation’s largest community foundation.
