ProPublica’s Nonprofit Explorer public database now allows users to search for board members and key employees.
The search tool tracks almost 616,000 tax-exempt organizations, including details such as executive compensation, revenue and expenses. Users can download tax filings as far back as 2001.
ProPublica, a nonprofit news organizations, touts the database as a way to increase accountability and learn more about charities before you donate.
The new feature gives users the option to search all individuals listed on tax returns between 2014 and 2017.
“You can use this new search feature to, for instance, look into nonprofit boards that Donald Trump — the president as well as his son — are on,” wrote Scott Klein, deputy managing editor of ProPublica, in a post introducing the new search options.
