NextFab will soon open its doors to students and faculty of the nearby Delaware College of Art and Design in downtown Wilmington. The members-only makerspace will offer memberships to all part-time and full-time faculty members.

The goal will be for instructors to integrate the space into the DCAD curriculum, while using it to further their own careers. Students will have access to the facility for field trips and special demonstrations.

NextFab offers a variety of state-of-the-art tools, including CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printers.

Mayor Michael Purzycki and officials from NextFab and DCAD will announce the partnership today at 1:30 p.m. at 503 N. Tatnall Street in Wilmington.
