A new Italian restaurant is coming to Market Street in downtown Wilmington. Restaurateurs Scott Stein and Antimo DiMeo on Thursday announced their plan to open Bardea Food & Drink at 620 North Market Street in June.

The owners promise a mix of traditional recipes and new twists. The 4,000-square-feet restaurant will hold 120 seats and feature a design that combines rustic elements with “industrial-chic accents.”

The property was recently renovated by The Buccini/Pollin Group. Elmer Design of Philadelphia will come up with the design plan.

Stein places the project in line with an ongoing resurgence of night life and food destinations in Wilmington.

“We are inspired to be a part of this renaissance of bringing people to Market Street for great dining
experiences,” said Stein. “We see that it is happening, new people are here every day, and we cannot wait to be a part of the excitement and energy, adding our own unique touch to this fantastic dining scene.”
