RadNet, Inc., a network of outpatient imaging centers, this week announced the joining of two of its affiliated radiology practices, Papastavros’ Associates Medical Imaging (PAMI) and Diagnostic Imaging Associates (DIA).
The new practice is called Delaware Imaging Network (DIN) and has 12 locations throughout New Castle County.
RadNet said that the merger will lower costs, create operational efficiencies and improve patient outcomes. The centers will also adopt the eRAD Radiology Information System, a shared patient information database.
“This merger brings together the two most trusted imaging groups in our community and their respective imaging experts, including Dr. Timothy Dambro, a women’s imaging specialist, and Dr. Garth Koniver, one of the founding partners of Papastavros’,” said Kenny Ames, chief operating officer of Delaware Imaging Network. “It’s a big step forward for the Delaware healthcare community, especially from a cost and convenience perspective.”
In addition, Delaware Imaging Network will introduce new mammography biopsy technology.
“It’s the latest in stereotactic breast biopsy technology,” Ames said, “utilizing 3D breast tomosynthesis for guided biopsies. It’s a state-of-the-art, stand-up unit that will debut under the personal supervision of Dr. Dambro. It is the first of its kind in our area and promises access to the most cutting-edge capabilities that exist today.”
