The Board of Directors of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce has named Bob Chadwick as president.
Chadwick jumped into the acting director role after former president Mark Kleinschmidt resigned in November of 2017. He brings 11 years of experience at the chamber to the position, including a stint as executive vice president and director of the New Castle County Economic Development Council.
Chadwick’s past experiences run the gamut of state government. He worked in public affairs for the Environmental Protection Agency and served as a spokesperson for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services under then-governor Mike Castle. In addition, he held leadership positions in the Delaware Republican Party through the 1990s.
In the private sector, he worked in marketing for First USA Bank and Bank One over a five year period. He also managed his own consulting firm before joining the chamber in 2007.
“He has successfully led our organization through a critical transition over the past several months and is uniquely positioned to provide the leadership we need to advance the interests of our 1,000+ member companies,” said County Chamber Board Chairman Tim Boulden. “We have tremendous confidence in his ability to not only successfully manage our organization, but also to be a leader and advocate for the business community throughout New Castle County and the entire region.”
Chadwick said he sees the chamber continuing its role in supporting business growth throughout New Castle County, but with more targeted initiatives.
“Looking forward,” Chadwick said, “I envision our organization also playing a key role in accelerating business growth through targeted industry and subject matter initiatives.”
