New Castle County Chamber honors members at annual luncheon

Claymont, Del. — The New Castle County Chamber hosted its annual awards luncheon, and honored four of its members for their commitment to entrepreneurs, community and service.

Paul and Linda McConnell were presented with the Wallace Johnson Community Service Award for their work with the Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative at the University of Delaware, which supportsย  technology training programs for teachers and students.

The Entrepreneur of the Year awardย  was given to Todd Bavol, president and chief executive officer of Integrity Staffing. Bavol was noted for his commitment to employee development. His company includes more than 400 staff members and clients in 19 states across the country.

Will Webber, of Keller Williams Realty, received the Ambassador of the Year award. Webber has been a longtime member of the chamber and its Ambassadors Committee, which serves as a connection between members and the chamber, and focuses on retention, recruitment and mentoring.

David Freschman was posthumously named the Entrepreneurial Advocate of the Year. The venture capitalist , who passed away in March, was recognized for his support of the entrepreneurial community. He was a member of the chamber’s board of directors and instrumental in the startup of the chamber’s Emerging Enterprise Center.

The awards luncheon was held at the Waterfall Banquet & Conference Center.
