Nemours honors two companies for inspirational generosity

Wilmington ““ The Nemours Fund for Children’s Health honored Bank of America and the Delmarva Broadcasting Corporation with the Inspiration Award. This award is given to donors (individual, foundation or corporate) that show outstanding generosity and commitment to the community.

The awards were presented at the Nemours annual donor reception on November 17. Chip Rossi, Delaware market president, and April Birmingham, senior vice president and market manager, accepted the award for Bank of America. Jeff Boden, president and CEO;  Mike Reath, vice president and general manager; and Steve Monz, operations manager, accepted the award for Delmarva Broadcasting.

·  bank-of-america-team-with-nemoursBank of America – For more than 10 years, Bank of America has been committed to helping Nemours care for children through cumulative financial support of more than $500,000.Those funds have supported initiatives at the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the capital campaign for the hospital expansion, and the Child Life department, which uses play to make hospital stays less scary for children and their families. Bank of America volunteers have also played key roles at the hospital, helping with the Halloween party, the “prom” for some of the sickest patients.

·       delmarva-broadcasting-team-with-nemoursDelmarva Broadcasting Company – Since 2011, the Delmarva Broadcasting Company has hosted the Help Our Kids Radiothon for Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. This event is beloved by associates, patient families and by the community, and it is one of the most successful fundraisers every year. Since that first event, the Radiothon has raised more than $1.3M for duPont Hospital’s programs and services. Delmarva Broadcasting secures sponsors for the event and also donates time and talent that has equated to millions of dollars.

We are incredibly grateful for their support and we look forward to seeing what we can continue to do for kids, together.”
