SELBYVILLE ‑ Nemours Children’s Health and Beebe are teaming up to offer more services to families in Sussex County as the pair celebrates the opening of a cardiac specialty care clinic in Selbyville.
The clinic, operated by Nemours Children’s Health, was announced in early December 2024 and is located at Beebe Healthcare’s Selbyville location at 36450 Tidal Road which opened a year ago.
The two health care groups first formalized a partnership for pediatric services in 2021 when Nemours agreed to bring a rotation of five hospitalists to Beebe Healthcare’s hospital in Lewes who would provide consultations to the inpatient pediatric unit and emergency department, as well as support for high-risk childbirth deliveries and the newborn nursery.
Nemours also expanded pediatric and senior care in Milford in 2021, offering specialized care in a 35,000 square foot building on Bayhealth’s newer Sussex Campus bringing 20 new specialties to the area with 13 primary care exam rooms.
Now, Selbyville can be added to the list are areas with specialty pediatric care as Nemours begins serving cardiac patients at the Beebe site. The organization also offers cardiology services to pediatric patients in Bear, Dover, Middletown, Seaford, Milford, Wilmington and several locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
“The opening of this clinic helps fill a gap in cardiac care for children and families in the area,” Nemours Chief of Cardiology Dr. Shubhika Srivastava said in a press release. “Children across the state deserve the very best in cardiac care, and I am excited that we can bring such critical services to Selbyville and the surrounding community.”
Dr. David Tam, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare, shared the excitement.
