Mountaire Farms to organize food boxes for 35,000

SELBYVILLE —  Mountaire Farms, along with hundreds of volunteers will pack 8,500 Thanksgiving food boxes on Monday, Nov. 21.  Completed boxes will be distributed to local churches and organizations who will give them to families in need providing more than 35,000 less fortunate individuals with a bountiful holiday meal.

For the last 20 plus years, Mountaire Thanksgiving for Thousands program has been providing a nutritious meal to thousands of needy families on Delmarva and the Eastern Shore. Each box contains cans of corn, string beans, yams, cranberry sauce, a box of stuffing, gravy and a brownie mix for desert. Rounding out the meal is a plump Mountaire roaster.

On distribution day, Tuesday, November 22nd, Mountaire Farms’ trucks will transport the boxes to various locations for distribution and delivery to the many recipients on Delmarva and the Eastern Shore.
