Delaware Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro this week announced that the Delaware Medicare Assistance Bureau (DMAB) received $79,889 in federal grants towards helping low-income beneficiaries apply for cost-saving programs.
“We are very pleased that since 2015 our DMAB program has provided one on one counseling sessions to 16,802 Medicare beneficiaries and has also participated in 261 public and media events to assist our seniors, their loved ones and those with disabilities” Navarro said.
Some common programs include Medicare Part D, which helps pay for prescription medicine, and the Medicare Savings Program, which helps pay premiums.
Savings from these programs since 2015 exceeds $10 million, according to Navarro.
