New executives at Capital One

Capital One Bank announced that is has expanded its commercial banking presence in Philadelphia with the appointment of two new executives to the Commercial Banking team. They will provide services to Capital One’s middle market and corporate customers in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey.

Michael Prendergast brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial banking to Capital One. He previously spent five years at Citibank, where he was responsible for growing a portfolio of middle market and corporate clients in the Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware markets.

Drew Richards brings more than 20 years of corporate finance experience to Capital One. He previously was responsible for originating and structuring credit and investment banking solutions to middle market and corporate clients in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio and Delaware markets for Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

 


Delaware Arts Alliance has new home, staffers

The Delaware Arts Alliance has a new office in the Community Service Building in Wilmington, and has hired two new staff members.

Jessica Ball was hired as DAA’s new operations specialist. Ball is a 2013 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design with dual master’s degrees in historic preservation and landscape architecture & regional planning, and holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Florida International University. While at Penn, Jessica was part of a team that conducted a study on the historic neighborhood of West Powelton Village in Philadelphia.

Building Stronger Communities: How to Effectively Support Local Nonprofits 

In every community, nonprofits play a vital role in addressing social issues, providing essential services, and enriching the lives of residents.

Vaughn Fortier-Shultz, an economics student at the University of Delaware, is DAA’s new administrative assistant. Originally from Santa Fe, N.M., Vaughn was an administrative assistant with the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory and has written for the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper.

 


Diamond State Financial announces appointments

Joshua Shaver was named managing director with Diamond State Financial Group. Shaver is a financial advisor at the firm. As a member of the firm’s management team, Shaver will be responsible for recruiting, training, and developing advisors in all stages of their careers, while continuing to work primarily with young professional families and clients nearing retirement.

Andrew Baker was named field director with Diamond State. Baker is a financial advisor who joined the firm in 2012. As a new member of the firm’s management team, Baker will be responsible for recruiting, training, and developing advisors in the early stages of their career, while continuing to work closely with business owners & key people in the construction industry, medical professionals and those who are preparing for retirement.

Marshall Dennehey launches bankruptcy litigation group

Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin announced the launch of a Bankruptcy Litigation Practice Group within the firm’s Professional Liability Department. Attorneys in the practice group will counsel and defend clients in all aspects of bankruptcy-related litigation and protect the rights and interests of clients who find themselves as creditors in a bankruptcy.

The new practice group will be led by Gregory W. Fox, shareholder in the firm’s Philadelphia office, and Thomas D. Walsh, special counsel in the firm’s Wilmington office. Fox has experience in defending avoidance actions, representing corporate directors and officers in adversary proceedings, and representing banks and mortgage servicers in bankruptcy matters. Walsh is similarly well-versed in defending avoidance actions and D&O claims, and is highly experienced in all aspects of commercial bankruptcy matters.

The Bankruptcy Litigation Practice Group will service all types of businesses, individual and commercial creditors, banks, mortgage servicers, auto finance companies, debt collectors, car rental companies, taxing authorities, municipal entities, insurance carriers, insurance brokers, construction companies and corporate directors and officers.

 


Mike Eshleman rejoins Emory Hill

Mike Eshleman has rejoined Emory Hill & Co. as a project manager. Eshleman is returning to Emory Hill after three years at Warfel Construction Co. as their operations manager responsible for coordinating field operations. He has more than 40 years of construction experience and was previously with Emory Hill for more than 10 years.

Prior to that he was with High Construction of Lancaster, Pa., where he spent six years leading a project management group. Prior to working at HCI, Mike was with Emory Hill for 11 years as a construction manager, responsible for approximately 3 million square feet of commercial, residential and industrial construction in Delaware.

 

 

 


Fronczkowski named partner in law firm

Edward Fronczkowski has been named partner at Maille law firm, a regional public accounting firm with offices in Mont Clare, Pa., West Chester, Pa., and Wilmington.

Fronczkowski joined Maille in 1997, and works in the areas of real estate, retail and service industries, not-for-profits and government organizations. He has special expertise in tax and auditing. In addition, he plays a key role in the firm’s employee benefit plan auditing practice.


Middletown’s eZanga.com wins corporate culture award

Rich Kahn, founder and CEO of eZanga.com, has gone beyond the traditional holiday parties, employees take part in fun activities each month, including celebrating Christmas in July at the beach, catered lunches, video games and pool parties. The company has more than 50 employees.


New partners at Morris Nichols

D. McKinley (Mac) MeasleyD. McKinley (Mac) Measley was elected a partner at Morris Nichols. He joined the firm in 2008 and is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Business Litigation Group. His practice focuses on corporate and alternative entity litigation and commercial disputes before the Delaware Court of Chancery, the Delaware Superior Court, and the Delaware Supreme Court, as well as statutory proceedings authorized under Delaware’s business statutes, including appraisal cases, demands for books and records, and requests for dissolution and receiverships.

 

 

 

 

Andrew R. RemmingAndrew R. Remming was elected a partner at Morris Nichols. He joined the firm in 2008 and is a member of the firm’s Business Reorganization & Restructuring Group. His practice focuses on corporate restructuring and bankruptcy. Prior to joining Morris Nichols, he was law clerk to the Honorable Christopher S. Sontchi of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

 

 

 

 

 

 

R. Jason RussellR. Jason Russell was elected a partner. He joined Morris Nichols in 2007 and is a member of the firm’s Commercial Law Counseling Group. His practice focuses on limited liability company, partnership (including MLPs) and statutory trust law, and also a broad range of commercial matters, including mergers, asset acquisitions, joint ventures, and financing transactions, and the preparation of Delaware legal opinions. He is presently the Vice Chair of the Commercial Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association, and is also involved with bank regulatory matters and unclaimed property audits, compliance and voluntary disclosure programs.

 

 

 

Karl G. RandallKarl G. Randall was promoted to special counsel at the firm. He joined Morris Nichols in 2007 and is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Business Litigation Group. He has primarily litigated in the Superior Court’s Complex Commercial Litigation Division (CCLD) since its creati on in May 2010, but has also practiced before the Delaware Supreme Court and Court of Chancery, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
