Iron Hill brings on Kim Boerema as new CEO.

Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant on Wednesday announced the appointment of co-founder and president Kevin Finn to chairman of the board and the hiring of culinary veteran Kim Boerema as chief executive officer.

Finn co-founded the restaurant chain with Mark Edelson and Kevin Davies and has served as president for more than two decades.

“My time as president has been incredibly rewarding, but this is both the next logical step for me, and the right time to take it,” Finn said. “Our foundation is strong, our processes and protocols sound, and our staff is the best in the business.”

Boerema has 32 years of experience in the industry and 200 restaurant openings under his belt. He served as the chief operating officer of The California Pizza Kitchen for the last seven years and vice president of Texas Roadhouse and a general manager for Bennigan’s prior to that.

“I am privileged to become the CEO of Iron Hill,” Boerema said. “For years I have been a fan of the brewery and restaurant, seeing firsthand the pride, artistry, effort and raw talent of its staff. There is attention to detail in every meal and beer, all made from scratch using the finest ingredients; care and precision with every plating and pour; and an insistence that absolute freshness is not an optional luxury, but a self-imposed demand by the men and women of Iron Hill so that every guest receives the best.”

This transition comes as Iron Hill pushes a plan to reach 25 locations by 2020. A location opened on May 1 in Greenville, South Carolina and another opened in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware last month.
