Homewood Suites Wilmington breaks ground on Christina Riverfront

Buccini/Pollin Group, PM Hotel Group and BPGS Construction yesterday held the official groundbreaking ceremony for Homewood Suites Wilmington, a 120-room, extended-stay hotel located at 820 Justison Street directly along the Michael S. Purzycki Riverwalk .

Developers expect construction to finish up in September 2019. They also anticipate the project will create 100 construction jobs and 30 full-time positions once completed.

Elected officials and developers both touted the hotel’s proximity to numerous restaurants, The Chase Center on the Riverfront, businesses, an IMAX movie theatre and the downtown city business district.

Homewood Suites is known for its upscale atmosphere and amenities. PM Hotel Group will manage the hotel upon completion.

Gov. John Carney, Mayor Mike Purzycki and City Council President Hanifa Shabazz all attended the ground breaking.
