Interested in contributing to the future of transportation in New Castle County? Attend this public information session tonight at the Odessa Fire Hall at 304 Main St., Station 24 in Odessa.
The New Castle County Department of Land Use, Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), and Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) are collaborating on a transportation master plan for Southern New Castle County (SNCC). The plan covers the area between the Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) Canal and Kent County line.
The master plan will identify steps to move toward a cohesive vision by providing information about current conditions, long-term goals and objectives. It will inform development decisions for the next twenty years and make recommendations for policies for transportation and land-use.
“The end goal is a plan that allows for growth and mixed-use development; includes walkability, bikeability, and place-making; and preserves natural and agricultural resources,” said Dan Blevins, WILMAPCO principal Planner.
Attendees are welcome anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. A presentation will be given at 4:15 p.m. and repeated at 5:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. During the Information Session, New Castle County, DelDOT, and WILMAPCO staff will be on hand to listen to feedback on what Southern New Castle County should look like in the future.
