When the first class of high school seniors who have completed the state’s Pathways to Prosperity graduates on May 17, Gov. Jack Markell will be their graduation speaker.
Pathways to Prosperity, a manufacturing course in Delaware high schools, gives seniors specialized, hands-on training and the opportunity to graduate with industry-recognized certificates and college credits.
The program brings together employers, high schools and higher education to teach students the skills they’ll need in local industry.
Others celebrating with the students and their families will be Mitch Magee, former president of the Delaware Manufacturing Association; Kathy A. Janvier, vice president at Delaware Tech’s Stanton and George campuses; Paul Morris Jr., assistant vice president for Workforce Development and Community Education for Delaware Tech; and high school administrators.
Graduation is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Delaware Tech’s Stanton campus.
