NEWARK — GOLO, a fast-growing national wellness and weight loss company, has opted to move into manufacturing its own frozen food line that the company promises to arrive within two days shipped from distribution centers in Las Vegas and Wilmington.
The frozen food line comes in five different varieties: plant-based, chicken, chicken and rice, egg and beef. The base of each meal includes white quinoa, mung beans, adzuki beans, and roasted russet potatoes.
“Many meals that are marketed as healthy are not necessarily equal in quality,” GOLO President Jennifer Brooks said in a prepared statement. “With GOLO Foods meals, individuals who are looking for healthier delivered meal options no longer need to settle for tasteless, processed, nutrient-poor, and costly food choices.”

GOLO’s food line seeks to complement its existing supplement program that focuses on supporting healthy insulin levels. GOLO, headquartered in The Sabre Building near Newark, also distributes exercise equipment and its weight loss programs.
“There’s clearly a need for this type of product in the marketplace, since the meal kit delivery service market is projected to hit a revenue of $5.65 billion this year. Healthy meals are expected to be a significant part of that mix,” GOLO Vice President of Operations Taylor Lundin told the Delaware Business Times. “We’re excited about the reaction we’re seeing from our customers.”
Founded in 2009 by CEO Chris Lundin and President Jennifer Brooks, GOLO intends to flip the script on traditional “crash” diets. The company’s brand name started to accelerate during the COVID-19 pandemic through a robust television marketing campaign and now boasts of reaching 5 million customers across the globe.
Last year, GOLO signed a lease for a 80,000 square-foot warehouse in Wilmington’s Southbridge community to distribute products – like the frozen meal kits — on the East Coast.
All meals are manufactured in Minnesota and can be bought in bundles as little as five and as much as 24 items. The kits are freighted by a third-party to either distribution hub —so when a customer on the East Coast orders a GOLO meal, it comes from Delaware, packed with dry ice made on site.
GOLO currently employs 25 people out of its Wilmington distribution facility to handle the frozen food line, though the company representatives said there are plans to increase staffing over time.
