Goldey-Beacom College has partnered with the New Castle County Vocational-Technical School District to donate more than 30 cafeteria tables and 100 chairs, coming from Goldey-Beacom’s own “Lightning Café”, to NCCVT’s “Academia Antonia Alonso” (also known as “La Academia”) which serves as a dual-language charter school in Wilmington, Delaware.
“To know that this furniture will have continued use in a multicultural setting to support the education of young people makes us proud and underscores that partnerships will make great things happen in our community,” said Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, the president of Goldey-Beacom College.
This isn’t the only space at NCCVT Goldey-Beacom has helped renovate. Previously, Goldey-Beacom provided more than five classrooms with over 160 sleigh desks. In return, NCCVT supplied trucks to Goldey-Beacom for them to transfer the furniture to La Academia.
“It’s important for us to support one another for the betterment of students,” said Joseph M. Jones, Ed.D. “What a great example of a cross-organizational partnership!”
