Your biggest break: Being hired as an accountant in Sussex County government 10 years ago. Since day one, my efforts have been recognized and opportunities for me have opened up in order to continue to grow personally and professionally.
Two words that best describe you: Honest and driven.
Work /life balance technique you recommend: Commit time to your family like you commit time to your job. I have committed to my children to eat dinner with them as much as possible and at least once a week be home on time and do something of their choice.
If you were in charge of Delaware: Working in local government, I understand the complexity of running a successful government. My first action would be to surround myself with trustworthy leaders and professionals. It takes a solid, well-rounded team, not one individual, to run an effective government.
