GI Specialists of Delaware, a specialty practice with offices in New Castle County, has partnered with US Digestive Health (USDH), one of the largest gastroenterology practices in the country.
Backed by health care-focused private equity investment firm Amulet Capital Partners, USDH works with gastroenterology practices throughout the region, offering tech-assisted business management solutions that ease administrative burdens and allow physicians to focus on clinical care.
Operating as a management services organization, USDH handles tasks like regulatory compliance, finance and accounting, revenue cycle management, operations, IT, HR services, provider recruitment, marketing and business development. It also organizes clinical trials for providers and patients while sharing state-of-the-art technology used to detect colorectal cancer – the second deadliest cancer in the world.
Last year, USDH partnered with Delaware Center for Digestive Care, the largest gastroenterology practice in the state with 35 physicians, and it now expands its reach by adding three physicians and eight medical staff members.
“GI Specialists of Delaware has established a strong reputation across New Castle County, having demonstrated an unmatched commitment to patients by providing innovative solutions for digestive health disorders,” said Jerry Tillinger, CEO of USDH Management, the parent company of USDH. “This partnership provides patients with expanded access to gastroenterology services in Delaware in addition to our high-quality care, elevated standard of medicine and innovation in diagnosis.”
GI Specialists of Delaware operates an office and ambulatory surgery center at Limestone Medical Center near Christiana, as well as the ambulatory surgery center at Glasgow Medical Center.
“This partnership with USDH represents an opportunity to enhance our capabilities in digestive healthcare while focusing on providing high-quality care for patients,” Dr. Michael Brooks, who serves as the lead physician, said in a statement.
USDH now consists of more than 34 locations, 22 ambulatory surgery centers, over 250 gastroenterology providers, and more than 1,100 employees throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware.
