While Delaware gas started this week at $2.23, two cents less than last week’s start, prices in the region ranged up to $2.55, AAA reported. The national average is $2.34.

Delaware’s current $2.23 compares with $2 a year ago. Pennsylvania’s $2.55 compares with $2.26 a year ago, and South Jersey’s $2.30 compares with $1.90 a year ago.

New Jersey’s prices are affected by last November’s gas tax hike.
