The Delaware Small Business Development Center (DSBDC), in partnership with the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement (DANA) and the University of Delaware’s Center for Community Research and Service, will host “Protect Your Nonprofit Organization from a Cyber Attack” on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 1:00 p.m. as part of the DatAssured program. This event is free, but registration is required.

The webinar will cover the common cyber risks and behaviors that can expose an organization to a breach, how to detect and respond to a possible breach, and how to recover from a cyber attack using NIST’s cybersecurity framework.

“Helping Delaware’s nonprofits secure their critical data and infrastructure from cyber-attacks is an important piece to making Delaware a safe place to work, do business, and engage in the community,” said Daniel Eliot, manager of technology business development at DSBDC.

Cybersecurity expert Michelle Wang is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). She is the assistant director of information security administration for the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church.

The Delaware Small Business Development Center Network is a part of the University of Delaware’s Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships (OEIP), a team guided by a singular purpose to drive the University and the State’s entrepreneurial, technology and business community to new heights of economic development.

DSBDC is the only statewide, nationally accredited program that provides high quality one-on-one consulting, training and information resources to help small businesses grow and succeed.  The DSBDC program is a public/private partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Delaware and the University of Delaware.
