Delaware City’s Fort DuPont to host music festival

Fort DuPont in Delaware City is set to host the inaugural Fortify Music Fest on Saturday, August 10.

The music starts at 1 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. and features a mix of classic bands, such as Steely Dan and Little Feat, and local groups, such as The Susquehanna Floods and Lovebettie.

Fort DuPont is a mixed-use development at the site of a former military base along the C&D Canal. The Fort DuPont Redevelopment and Preservation Corporation, which has facilitated the multi-year project, is organizing the festival.

Tickets are selling for $35 and children under the age of 12 are free to enter.

Regional food trucks, including Mojo Loco, Deerhead Hotdogs, Swamptown, Waffle Mamas, will offer culinary options for festival-goers. 

The Fortify Beer Garden will feature local craft beers from Big Oyster and Blue Earl and there will be a community stage featuring several up and coming Delaware Bands.
