First TEDxWilmingtonWomen conference highlights 25 women

WILMINGTON—Twenty-five female speakers from around the world will take the TEDxWilmingtonWomen stage on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the historic World Café Live at the Queen in downtown Wilmington.

TEDxWomen events are organized around the official TEDWomen conference each year. The theme for TEDWomen 2016 is, “It’s About Time.” We all have 24 hours a day, yet most of us feel we never have enough. TEDxWilmingtonWomen explores the conventions and challenges of time, with discussions about climate change, quality of life, poverty, immigration, violence gender inequities, and so-called “time-changing” technologies.

There will be several sessions throughout the day, with each lasting for 90 minutes, with a one-hour break in between. One of the 90-minute sessions is a live simulcast of TED talks being given at the TEDWomen 2016 Conference in San Francisco.

General admission is $75.00, which includes non-reserved seating, continental breakfast and lunch. Reserved seating is $100.00 and includes table seating in addition to continental breakfast and lunch. Refreshments and snacks are served during the breaks and are also included.
