First Ascent Design, a full service marketing agency specializing in digital marketing, is marking its expansion in Wilmington with a community celebration and tour of its office at 1216 North King Street.
John and Pauline Himics started the company as a husband-wife collaboration and grew it into a small team of 10 operating out of a co-working space in Wilmington.
“First Ascent exists because so many organizations and businesses in Delaware are doing terrific things for our communities, and we take great joy in telling their stories,” said Partner and Creative Director Pauline Himics. “We are the agency that creates impactful work because of our culture, our values, our team, and our community partnerships.”
The idea for the company grew out of a chance meet-up at the CoIN Loft. John and Pauline had recently moved to Delaware for work and were looking to meet new people.
First Ascent Design officially formed in 2015. Its first office was the common space at the CoIN Loft. Then they met Robert Herrera of The Mill, and they joined the team to help build out the website, email, and social media for the new space.
In 2019, First Ascent matured as a business. The team grew and refreshed their brand with a new logo, and hired two additional full-time, Wilmington-based team members.
The celebration will take place on Tuesday September 10th, with an Open House at its new offices from 4:00pm-6:00pm and a Community Celebration at Tonic Bar and Grille from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
