Firefly Music Festival announces 2020 lineup

DOVER — The 2020 Firefly Music Festival will include an eclectic mix of rock, pop, R&B and country artists, with headliners Billie Eilish, Rage Against the Machine, and Halsey topping the four-day event running June 18 to 21, organizers announced Tuesday, Jan. 28.

First launched in 2012, the annual music festival at the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway is continuing into its growth away from its rock ‘n’ roll roots that began in 2017. The event, now owned and operated by mega concert promoter AEG Presents, is a huge driver for the state’s economy in its annual June run, drawing tens of thousands of visitors to the state’s NASCAR track.

This year’s event will see a wide mix of acts take the step, led by Eilish, the American singer-songwriter known for her hit single “Bad Guy” who was recently crowned at the top of the pop world by sweeping the Grammy Awards’ four biggest prizes.

Also at the top of the bill are Rage Against the Machine, the recently reunited hard rock band known for its outspoken political advocacy though songs like “Bulls on Parade,” and Halsey, the American singer-songwriter for pop hits like “Closer” and “Without Me.”

Also among the top of of the bill are R&B singer Khalid, pop-punk band Blink 182 and emerging country star Maggie Rogers.

In the second tier listings are rock acts like Cage the Elephant, David Lee Roth, Chvrches, The Struts, Grouplove and Cold War Kids; rap acts like Run the Jewels, Lil Dicky and Lil Tecca; and electronic dance music acts like Diplo, Illenium, RL Grime, Big Wild, Tove Lo and more.

Presale tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at FireflyFestival.com. Fans must first go to the site and register for a unique access code to the sale. Four-day general admission passes start at $299, VIP at $699 and Super VIP at $2,499.
