Ohio Governor John Kasich’s Delaware leadership team named two local honorary chairs  — former Republican National Committee Co-Chair and U.S. Congressman Tom Evans and former Reagan communications director Frank Ursomarso.

Michael Fleming, a communications executive, will serve as executive chair.

“John Kasich has all the qualities and vision we need in the White House and unmatched experience in actually getting great things done for the American people,” Evans said. “I worked closely with President Reagan and John has the same capacity to unite our party and compete in every state in November.”

Evans, a close adviser to Reagan, served as RNC co-chair from 1971 to 1973 and represented Delaware in Congress from 1977 to 1983.

“I am proud to endorse Gov. John Kasich for president and help spread his positive and optimistic message across Delaware,” said Ursomarso, who served as director of the White House Office of Communications under Reagan. “Like President Reagan, Gov. Kasich is a leader that we can trust to renew the American spirit and bring real solutions to Washington that will strengthen and grow our economy.”

Fleming, a former senior aid to U.S. Sen. Bill Roth, said Kasich has a strong team in Delaware.

“I am grateful to have the support of so many conservative leaders in Delaware,” Kasich said in a statement. “Tom, Frank, Michael and the entire Delaware team will be a vital asset to our campaign as our momentum grows in the First State and throughout the east.”

Other members of Kasich’s local team include House Minority Whip Deborah Hudson; Rick Carroll, New Castle County Republican Committee Chairman; John Fluharty, former state GOP executive director; Joanne Butler, former staff member of the House Ways and Means Committee; businessman Ben DuPont; Cynthia Koenig, former House Budget Committee staffer; businessman Jim Ursomarso; Stan Sykora, former chair of the Associated Building Contractors, and businessman John Moore.
