Mayor Mike Purzycki and Downtown Visions Executive Director Martin Hageman on June 6 marked the opening of the Downtown Farmer’s Market near Rodney Square. The market opens to the public each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 30.

“The Downtown Farmer’s Market is just one more example of the many good things that are happening in Wilmington,” said Purzycki. “The Farmer’s Market has become a wonderful destination for food and entertainment, whether people are visiting downtown, are on their lunch hour or live nearby. I urge you to stop by and grab a bite from one of the local food trucks, support local farmers by purchasing fresh produce, or buy some of the handmade crafts from local artisans.”

The market is located at 1000 block of North Market Street this year due to the pending reconstruction of Rodney Square.

It offers an array of local produce, plants, herbs and cut flowers, as well as an assortment of handmade items, including arts and crafts, unique jewelry, and delicious home baked goods. Local musicians will provide live music.
