DowDuPont forms $6.2 billion Nutrition & Biosciences division

DowDuPont Specialty Products Division is combining the Nutrition & Health and Industrial Biosciences divisions into a $6.2 billion business division called Nutrition & Biosciences.

The combined division will focus on specialty food ingredients, dietary supplements, pharma excipients, household and personal care, animal nutrition and biotechnology fields.

“Both DuPont Nutrition & Health and Industrial Biosciences are known for their innovations and strong scientific approach,” said Nutrition & Biosciences President Matthias Heinzel. “Combining the two businesses is a step to further accelerate growth and innovation while better providing customers across our industries with innovative, healthy, safe and sustainable solutions.”

The company noted that the combined division will benefit from complementary expertise and skills in the areas of food enzyme production, human and animal microbiome science, bioprocess engineering and R&D. Moreover, a new business structure will ensure a more targeted go-to-market strategy.

Nutrition & Biosciences will be headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Following the merger, the division reported 2018 revenue of $6.2 billion, with over 10,000 employees, 70 manufacturing sites and 25 innovation centers across the globe.
