Delaware Tech has hired General Francis D. Vavala as a veterans advocacy specialist. Vavala will lead the Veterans Resource Center at the Stanton Campus, which serves as a resource for veteran students.

Vavala is a retired Army National Guard who served as the adjutant general of the State of Delaware, the highest-ranking position in the state.

“I couldn’t be happier in this next phase of my life to use my experience and insights to benefit veterans who are improving their lives through education,” Vavala said. “My passion has always been public service, and this is just another way I can serve.”

Delaware Tech has earned the “Military Friendly School” designation for three years going back to 2015. The designation goes to schools that go out of their way to support veteran and military students.
