The Delaware State Fair will be held from July 21- 30 at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington. This year’s theme is “A Slice of Summer Fun” and marks the 97th year that the fair has taken place.

More than 3,000 competitive exhibits, games, races, performers and events are scheduled, including a petting zoo, a Lego building contest, dessert competition, trivia games, educational shows, and live performances.
Wade Shows will return as the Midway Carnival provider.

Once known as the Kent and Sussex Fair, the Delaware State Fair now has more than 70 board members and a year-round staff.

This year’s fair is expected to bring large numbers. Reports from last year’s busiest day brought in 48,874 people and a total over the ten days of 311,012.

The fair will be open from 8 a.m to 11 p.m., excluding July 21 when it opens at noon. Tickets are $9 for adults 13 and over, $3 for kids 6-12 years, and free for children 5 and under.

This year’s concert headliners include Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Alabama and more.
