Delaware’s Department of Health and Social Services has awarded the contract to AmeriHealth Caritas to provide managed Medicaid and long-term services and supports (LTSS) under the Diamond State Health Plan (DSHP) and Diamond State Health Plan-Plus (DSHP-Plus) programs.
“Core to our mission is that every individual should have access to health care, and for more than 30 years we have been working in communities across the nation to make that possible,” asid AmeriHealth Caritas Chairman and CEO Paul A. Tufano.
AmeriHealth is one of two managed care organizations to serve in this role, serving a combined 200,000 people. The company has managed the care of Medicaid enrollees in Pennsylvania for over 30 years.
“We are pleased that AmeriHealth Caritas will be joining our Medicaid Managed Care Program,” Delaware Department of Health and Social Services Secretary Dr. Kara Odom Walker said. “I believe we share a common goal with AmeriHealth Caritas: To provide our Medicaid clients with person-centered and coordinated care across the health care system so they achieve their optimal health.”
The contract will begin January 1, 2018.
